How do I restore contacts from icloud to my iphone?

Last year you solved a contacts problem for another user. I have a similar problem. I bought a new iPhone and gave my husband my old one. He deleted a lot of my contacts and added his own. When I turned my phone on this morning my contacts a the ones now on my old phone, which means most of my contacts have been lost from my new phone. There was a backup on icloud at 5am this morning. Is there any way I can 'step back to a previous contact list on icloud? I would be really grateful if you could help. Thanks

Problem is that he was logged on your old phone with the same iCloud account as your new phone. When you gave him the phone he should have logged out and created his own different iCloud account. So your out of luck on this one. I suggest he gets his own iCloud account.

OK, so my phone crashed a few days ago, and all my photos on my contacts got mixed up. They are still correct on iCloud.com. Is there a way to restore my contacts on my phone from iCloud without doing a complete reset? I have too much stuff that would be lost.

Settings>iCloud>Contacts>Off and choose "Delete from my iPhone". Turn Contacts ON again and choose "Merge".

in the same boat as of this evening - when i follow these steps, i do not see an option to Merge - can anyone advise on how to access this option? thank you!

If you delete contacts from your phone it doesn't give you the "Merge" option. But once you turn cloud back on, if you go to your contacts, it will begin updating them from the iCloud. I just did it to my phone.

I opened Settings and ensured I was logged in to Apple w/ ID and Password. I turned off Contacts and hit KEEP, I turned on Contacts and hit Merge... The missing contacts were not there. Does this mean they weren't backed up when I initiated the ICloud function on my phone.?
