How do I restore contacts from icloud to my iphone?

HELP...SOS... when i initially installed icloud on my iphone and sent off my contacts, my battery died whilst backing-up.

Upon charge, all my contacts; 600+ GONE...!

Icloud has there after claimed no back-up had been performed...ZERO, never happened...yet,

all my SMS's and Call History, remain, without contact details.

**** it...what now???

Not sure what I am doing wrong here. I can see my contacts in iCloud on the iCloud site, I turn off Contacts and nothing happens ( I assume that is because they are all gone on my phone). However when I turn contacts back on, I do not get a Merge option and no restore is happening. On ios 7.0.3. Any help is appreciated.

Lungs I had an iPad i saved all my stuff before getting rid of it now I have iphone5 and can not get my stuff to pop up can u help with this problem

I am running ios 7.0.4 - I have tried to follow your directions, but I must be missing a step. My contacts suddenly disappeared from my phone, but they are still on the icloud website.

Here is the steps that I have done -

Go to settings/icloud - turned contacts to off (a screen pops up and says, contacts turned off)

Then, go to settings/itunes and LOG OUT of my icloud account.

Go back to settings/itunes and LOG INTO my icloud/apple id account

Go to settings/icloud - turn contact to on (a screen pops up and says, contacts turned on)

I've waited for several minutes, but my contacts are still MIA on my phone - Please help! Thanks!!!

Thanks for your post. It was a great help for me when i lost my contacts from my iPhone 4s.

"Keep on my iPhone" should be selected when you off contacts & then "Merge" should be selected when again making it on.

BUT I'm afraid to delete icloud as it says my photostream photos will be deleted from my phone. I don't appear to have any saved on icloud.com that I can tell. my icloud backup IS ON to back up the camera roll, etc. but when I log in on the .com, viewing my photos isn't even an option / there is no icon.

I did log out of my account via settings/itunes app store, and log back in, but nothing. No option to "merge" has ever appeared. Am I missing something simple? Anyone help?

I'm on an iphone 4s, new this summer but this is the first fail I've had.
Also for what it's worth I have a "Backup assistant app" that theorhetically has my contacts too, but I don't know how to get to those, either.
