How do I restore contacts from icloud to my iphone?

I've tried everything to restore my phone contacts from iCloud to my iPhone. I turned off contacts/deleted from phone, turned back on contacts, but they aren't there. Any other ideas?

Disregard. I turned my phone off and back on again, then turned contacts off/delete from phone, turned contacts back on and there they are!

Same thing, different order - contacts off, back on...nothing. Then phone off, back on, contacts are there.

Favorites are still the numbers, not names, except the ones I've called since my contacts first went missing are OK.

Thanks so much! Some of my contacts came back, but not all (ironically none of my kids... maybe I should take that as a blessing 🙂).

I turned on and off my contacts 20 times but nothing happens. it does't ask me anything like if i want to keep or merge. is there anything i'm doing wrong?

Remember to make sure you are logged into your apple ID. I just did this about 15 min ago and had the same problem as you. So I backtracked on this feed and saw that you have to be logged in first. That made all the difference. I just downloaded a new free app from the app store to log in. Hope this helps.

I did everything posted here to restore my iphone contacts list from iCloud, but still it didnt work. Then, after completing the Merge process at Setup>iCloud, I powered down my iphone and powered it back on. That did the trick, and all my old contacts reappeared.....
