How do I restore contacts from icloud to my iphone?

Hey Lungs !.. i need help !... i did the same way as u told abt changing the toggle on the icloud "contacts" and i could recover only a part of the whole contacts ! ... its present on the icloud but not getting back on the phone !!.. i tried a hundred times by toggling the option !.. and mergin evry time but only a few are restored ! plzzz help

I tried this and only got back last download, I upgraded from a 5 to 5S last week and need to restore from the old phone, as I see the old phone and current phone as having both been backed up, how can I choose the older back up which has all my work contacts?

This is the answer that works. The wrong answer is selected as the answer to the question. Just worked for me after losing all contacts. (Apple - maybe don't make this problem happen so often?)

Thank you, but it only syncronized my old contacts, all of my new contacts are gone 😟

According to Apple, the notes and contacts get backed up in iTunes when you do a sync/backup,

so connect your phone to iTunes and restore from the latest backup.
It's not a good idea to store photos or contacts in the camera roll and gmail of your phone.
If you have a backup before the removal then restore from that backup o therwise it's gone. Restore is all or nothing deal, you cannot be selective.

Please advise me with this. I turned on contacts on icloud in settings but all my contacts disappeared after that. However, i have not set up i cloud before. How do i restore them??

Here i briefly demonstrate how to restore contacts from iCloud:

Go Settings->iCloud on your phone and disable the “Contacts”.

When prompted with the message asking you what to do with previously synced contacts, choose “keep on my phone”.

Then turn on the Contacts, and choose “merge” on the pop up window.

Then you should see all your missing contacts sitting nicely on your contact app.
