Secure link to iTunes Store failed

I can't log in or connect to iTunes store from my PC. About two weeks ago I was watching movie on my AppleTV and all of a sudden it stoped in the middle of it and asaid I was not connected to iTunes. Ever since then I cannot connect. When I run diagnostics I get msg "secure link to iTunes Store failed" and when I click on the Help button it tells me that I am not connected to the internet.

That is not true as I can browse the net and I can even log into my accout on line but just cannot log in to iTunes or connect to the Store. Please, help.

Here is my scenerio....

I work from my home for my employer through DSL connection. I recently installed a Netgear wireless router. Since then we cannot access www.apple.com, and various other functions of some websites. Including not being able to pull up the iTunes store. When I ran diagnostics on iTunes store I get this error - secure link to iTunes Store failed, when I click the 'help' I can't even pull that up it gives me a blank screen. I have tried some of these solutions but still nothing works.

If I go to www.verizonwireless website it pulls up however it does not permit me to log into my account. When I click the 'sign in' button it does nothing. Other websites to search for hotel rooms such as www.bookit.com won't permit me to search but I can pull up the website.

Any ideas/suggestions? My employer had me connect the wireless router through their router could there be an issue there?

If I click on the 'iTunes Store' link on the left, then I cannot open the App store (network timed out error). However if I search for some text from the Search bar on the right top side, I do get results, however the formatting of the page is severely hit, all the text comes in one single column. I can click on the results and even open any app store app page or something, but I am not sure why iTunes is displayng such garbled text blocks !!

User uploaded file

after all i have also flush the dns but still the issue is stands.

Hi Wiclee,

My windows 7 (64bit) machine itunes 11 installation won't connect to the itunes store and when I run diagnostics I get the error that is the subject of this thread. I have tried winsock netsh reset which worked once in earlier versions but then the problem returned. Also checked using Autoruns.exe -- nothing but Bonjour as winsock file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times by now, following the exact order specified by Apple. I also flushed DNS. I also tried running SFC /SCANNOW -- the system did not find any errors. I'm trying to get the diagnostic output but itunes help claims the computer is not connected to the internet, even though I am typing this message on the same computer...wait when I clicked next it displayed the diagnostics on the following page. Here they are:
