xcode for mac os x 10.6.8

Actually the last version for SL is 3.2.6 and SDK 4.3 as mentioned earlier. Xcode 4.2 and on is Lion and beyond OS. All you have to do is log in with your free apple account to grab it.

You didn't pay attention to darshan.shroff's post. If you become a paid developer, you can get 4.2 for SL. However, you're correct, if you're not a paid developer.

You can install XCode for Snow Leopard, Leopard, and Tiger from the disk. Put it in, open it up(it should atuomatticly) and hit the optional installs folder, in there is XCode 3.2.

I found it on the 6 page. it is called Xcode 3.2.3 and iOS SDK 4.0.1

It doesn't come up as often as it did a year and a half ago when this topic was started, but the download for Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard has only been available by paying for it (either the $5 App Store version at the time, or via a paid developer account). Xcode 3.2.6 for Snow Leopard is the last one available for free (registered) developer accounts - I just took another look to see if something changed, but 4.2 for SL is not available to me (free account).

Agreed, terrible advice.

So I went searching and found XCode 3.2 but that's the most highest for Snow Leopard to go.

Kappy: Wrong. Sorry. 4.2 only works for OSX 10.7.

It took me two hours of work to find that out. By having my computer reject the install.
