iOS 5.1.1 Software Update - Problems

Further to the below update, I have been unable to
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1521

  1. Open some already downloaded Apps such as Free Music

  2. Having issues opening Safari (Browser) and opening a Google Search, but works intermittently

  3. App store issues, where any app updates freezes and cancels

  4. Connectivity issues, again intermittent.

These issues have been evident since the new Apple 5.1.1 iOS update.

Was wondering if anyone had any Tips to overcome this or whether Apple iOS planned to release another update to fix the items that need fixing on the iPhone 4S.

P.S - Does anyone know the new way of hiding the bookstand as since the prior 5.1 release I am unable to prize the Bookstand in a folder on its own, so again tips and workarounds welcome.

Thankyou in advance

I'm also having problems with my 3GS iPhone. Since the update to 5.1.1 last night I've been unable to connect to my carrier. It either goes to "searching" or "no signal". Checked the six card with my carrier and had the, do a full restore at the Apple Store but no luck.

Huge problem since my wife is pregnant and I need a reliable phone handy. Help!

I am having so many issues since i've updated to 5.1.1,

I haven't been able to connect to any wifi, no matter how many times i reset the network connection,

My speakers stop working whenever they want to, including the speaker to hear what others are saying during a phone call,

my battery life is completely draining out of my phone, lasting not even half the time it normally would,

my phone takes about 5 minutes to turn off, and 5 minutes to turn back on,
It randomly calls people, not even people on my contact list, just random numbers.

When I recieve messages my phone doesn't vibrate,

Half the time my camera wont open,

And finally when i plug in my phone is will say that the accessory is not valid, and wont charge it,

I didn't pay that much money to have this many issues with my phone, this is actually the worst problems i've had with any electronic device.

I'm so disappointed.

I have been seeing the issue on my iPhone4 where the phone will say "No Service" and then "Searching...". I found that if I do either a hard reset, and/ or reset the network settings, I will get service back until I try to make a call, but if you switch off 3G, it eliminates the problem. When I need to download something and I'm not on Wi-fi, I switch 3G on download, and switch it back off. It's a pain, but at least the phone will do what it was built for until Apple decides to actually help their customers instead of just thinking of ways to get more new ones!

After a few weeks of playing around wth the phone. It looks like it is the mail application that is screwing up the phone application. I noticed when my phone gets into its funk, where when i dial a number the "speaker" button is highlighted automatically, the call completes but I cant hear the person on the phone and they cant hear me, the mail app is opened in the background. To clear up the issue I have foind that I need to kill the mail app, the phone app. Go into the phone app, make sure the phone app is at the dial pad screen, exit, then kill the phone app again. The open the phone go to the number I want to dial, 99% of the time it works correctly at that point. It is a lot faster than resetting the freaking phone.

Also, I took the phone to the apple store, they ran a diagnostic on it, no hardware issues, they did see a lot of application issues, and an issue with springboard which controls the applications. They saw a couple of crashes in the logs. They suggested a reset the phone and load as new, and not use a backup. So I did, that hasnt fixed the issue either.

If only I could go back to using the previous point release of ios I wouldnt have any problems. Really wish Apple would allow users to go back one release.

I reloaded my phone from scratch, not using the backup. I still have the issue with the phone app, where callers can not hear me, and when the call does connect, the "speaker" button is lit up. Toggling the button does nothing, but slows the phone, and sometimes crashes the phone app. Everything else is working fine, just the main function, the phone does not work properly. All they say at apple store is that its a software problem.. "NO KIDDING!!!" I wish apple would allow users to back rev the phone to the previous IOS release, I didnt have a problem with that one. When is apple going to release a patch??
