I have just redeemed an iTunes $30 gift card and did not get the face value into my account. $25.51 landed in my account, $4.49 has gone missing. Opening balance $20, closing balance $45.51

However I just tried it with a new $15 card (scratched just now), and it claimed that the PIN was invalid. I copy-pasted the PIN to iTunes' redeem feature, and it worked right away.

So your mileage may vary...

Log into the iTunes Store using the account under which you redeemed the card and your balance will be shown at the upper-right next to your account ID.

Sorry, but there is no way to check to see if a card has been redeemed other than by attempting to redeem it.

Look up the Support contact # from below link. For US - 1-800-275-2273

Explain the issue, and they will connect you to iTunes support center.

Associate here can look up the value on the card and if it has been activated or not, when you provide the PBHxxxxx or GCAxxxx at the left bottom of the card.

How to check to see if you have "redeemed" it without actually "redeeming" it? I think that is why the question of checking the balance on a card. Thank you

seems like ios7 doesnt allow us to check the balance of our itunes gift card. i want to make some purchases! 😟

That is for Apple Store gift cards (which can only be used in the Apple online store and their bricks-and-mortar stores), it won't work with iTunes gift cards

yes this is rediculuse each time I must call itunes to confirm if card was redeemed or not.

I guess (hope!) you have figured out the issue by now with this gift card, but for anyone else facing it, it would be helpful to log in to your iTunes account and check your purchase history. (Or look for emails from Apple with iTunes receipts, though those lag purchases by a couple of days).

Look at purchases around the time you redeemed the gift card, and see if they account for the balance that appears to have been lost. If it were Ting's case, you'd be looking for a $4.49 purchase (or several purchases which total that amount).

Are you sure that works with iTunes gift cards? That page asks for a PIN, but iTunes gift cards do not have a PIN. I tried it just now with an iTunes gift card and I got an error message saying the PIN I entered was invalid.
