MacBook Pro Retina display burn-in?

I first noticed this after my MBP [Retina] had gone to sleep, but: when returning to the login screen (since I have it set to require a password whenever the computer is idle long enough) I noticed what appeared to a very faint ghosting primarily noticeable on darker backgrounds.

After messing around with it a bit, there seems to be a fairly consistent in-display ghosting that occurs without much time at all; I was able to leave my screen on (a little above half-brightness) for about 10-15 minutes and the ghosted "burn" would be of the screen I left it on (which I deliberately reconfigured so that everything would be a new position).

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a normal thing that I just have to get used to? It's not really noticeable at all in standard use.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

As having had an LG panel with the IR issue and now a replacement Samsung I got through the "lottery" of exchange shows a significantly better contrast. I know what you mean by the "pinkish white" on the LG, and first thought it was just my bad eye sight hah. The whites are reasonably "whiter" than the LG, but ultimately the significant contrast difference between the two panels is what caught my eyes (Richer dark colors, and still able to distinguish texture -- it was a little more difficult to see in comparison to the LG). My LG was an early week 23 unit, and my new samsung is a week 32.

I had sumsung display but cosmetic problems with my rMBP so I went and replaced my. I got LG week 32 with ML preinstalled. I first i did ghost test in recovery and it was there, strange that i dont have any in actual os.

Then i set dark gray and safari page full brightness waited for 5 mins and nothing. Then for 10 mins and nothing. In 3 hours i did it 3 time for 15 mins nothing at all. So is it safe for me to say that i got no IR?

I dont even use dark gray as a defualt backgroud so I think i am one of the few here that has a normal LG screen or no?

Also after having sumsung first i kinda consider blacks to be better here but maybe its just me...

In the end i am also pretty sure i have less scrolling lag on this machine then i did with the sumsung one but maybe that because i didnt install everything yet but for now it looks as scrolling is better.

Just to make sure I understand the Apple policy on this...if I order a rMBP, take it out of the box, see right away that it's an LG, and immediately return it to an Apple Store, they'll accept it without any question or reason? I've been through the process of replacing FOUR iPhone 4S's (and still have a bad one), and I'll never do it again. I'll give Apple one chance before taking my money elsewhere.

Interesting observations. Yeah who uses default gray as a background anyway, reminds me of the mac desktops decades ago. Whats not discussed here is that both LG and Samsung use different screen types.

LG is a AH-ISP panel, while the Samsung is of a different variety called PLS. The newest laptops using LG LP154WT1-SJA1 display seems to be getting good comments online versus Samsung LSN154YL01001.

Hey my Custom rMBP was shipped on 1st aug and I will be seeing it for the first time tomorrow as I have been away.

This discussion is getting huge and its the first time that I have seen I and my heart has sunk a little!

From what I can see from going through the 75+ pages ! the LG may have problems that could manifest in different ways and extents. But the Samsung seem to be good to go?

How do i tell whether it is an LG or Samsung screen?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but i really cant find the answer easily!

Cheers
