Retina Macbook Pro WiFi and Bluetooth issue

My Macbook Pro 17 has similiar issues. I experience interference when streaming bluetooth audio to bluetooth speakers after a few minutes when on a 2.4ghz wifi network and using automatic graphic switching.

1 visit to the apple store, and 1 chat support session and still no solution in sight. I do have the option of using a wired ethernet connection though that does not seem to rememdy the issue. Even turning off my wifi radio does not fix the issue.

I posted a possible fix for the issue and called this a defect and Apple removed my post within 3 hours.

Hello Dom,

i fixed it. try your rMBP out of house. When it works outside the problem is in de router instade of a softwareproblem in r rMBP. Then you need to look to your network ( router and other routers in house.) In have one WD router for netwerk splitting and 2 Airport expres. I skipped the WD router and it works

I have a MBP Retina Mid 2012 and just upgraded to Mavericks. NEVER had an issue with my apple wireless mouse and keyboard until now. Can't use any Bluetooth products when they are connected, if I do, the internet connection from my airport express drops. Went to the Apple store today and had no problems, came back home, issue came up again.

Frustrated.

Not tried switching off BT on mt MBP with Retina, but I have noticed that when the MBP is on my iPad download speed from BBCIplayer drops from 7Mbps to less than 1Mbps!

This has been a problem for me also 😮

Although, I did decide to change my searches from being a bluetooth issue and figured there might be something on 'slow loading webpages'.

I just disabled DNS prefetching in terminal and nothing else and safari seems to be running faster than chrome when I was using it few weeks back.

As for when bluetooth is connected, it doesn't seem any slower, maybe a bit glitchier if that makes sense (very minimal) which could still indicate 'wifi/bluetooth compatibility' issues that the DNS prefetching was exacerbating when enabled.

Anyways, since disabling prefetching safari feels like a super browser and im hoping it stays that way because between ableton/mavericks, apogee/mavericks, bluetooth/mavericks, no co-install for ProTools 10 & 11/Mavericks im begining to question whether I even know how to us a computer anymore.

I use Mac's magic mouse via bluetooth to a MacBook Pro and hadn't really noticed any issues until Mavericks.

I kept up my interest in the 'wifi/bluetooth' saga yesterday and came across a thread that disabled the advanced settings in the 'Bluetooth' preferences shown below:

Between disabling prefetching 'and' disabling the bluetooth advanced options, im back in business and i've never experienced safari so fast, very happy 🙂

I also have issues streaming music while using wifi for my retina macbook pro. I haven't disabled the prefetching in safari but I have disabled the advanced settings in bluetooth. Before, I found it impossible to stream music via bluetooth while using wi-fi under Mountain Lion as either my music would stutter/cut off or the internet would stop loading. However, things seems to be fixed for me under Mavericks (contrary to what you experienced).

I cannot believe - this thread starts in 2011!!! and still same problems???

My router shows very stable conncection for each device I own - iPad, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, another to Books from the year 2008 and 2010 - all of them have stable daterate - 54 Mbps. The only one and the slowest one is my new Macbook Pro - 48, 36, 24, 5 or even 1 Mbps..Very unstable connection!

I purchased my Macbook Pro on 7. of November 2013. Waiting for replacement. Will report here after I get it.

Router - FritzBox 3170, 2,4 GHz, Chanel 3 (I tried all of them). No Firmware updates are available.

By the way I purchased my macbook retina 15 at the same time. For the moment I've purchased a bluetooth dongle for my bluetooth speakers and my apple magic mouse. Works fine, but it is more of a workaround than a satisfying solution.

Unfortunately, I tried it without any luck. Seemed to work for a little while. What really triggers it for me is when I travel with it and log onto another wifi. I've got a 15 MBPR that I got in August.

It seems disabling IPv6 has helped improve my wifi issues, but does not fix them entirely. Should we really need to disable, WiFi, DNS prefetching AND advanced bluetooth functionality to keep the laptop working? Please let me know when a REAL fix for this has been approved.
