Has Mountain Lion ruined ical/reminders integration? I can't figure it out

If I ever created a reminder, it was visible in iCal. Now, if I set a reminder on a certain day, it is NOT visible in ical. I think it's dumb having to use 2 aps to organize my week, not being able to just see everything under the same window. Is there a way to have reminders visible in ical if they're set to a specific time of a specific day?

Let me add yet another voice to the chorus. This is HORRIBLE!!! How could someone, or a group of "someones" come up with this idea and truly believe it would be beneficial. I want to believe there was at least one person in that room who said, "I don't think this is a good idea." I WANT to believe that...and yet here we are with multiple apps to do simple things that could all be done in one app.

This would be like Ford deciding to put a hand crank back on the front of their cars, or GE deciding a woodstove would be a better option...Ok, perhaps that's a little over the top. But does Apple really want their customers going to third party developers to fix something that was there to begin with?

Please fix this.

PLEASE APPLE FIX THIS, READ THESE MESSAGES AND SEE THE PAIN IT'S CAUSING! I have just gone to all the trouble to update from snow leopard to mountain lion cause I fell in love with iCal and wanted my reminders to sync over iCloud with my iPhone 5 only to discover now that they've seperated the two and I can no longer add a reminder to a specific calendar nor can I set it to a certain time! Grrrrr I am beyond mad. I love you apple but this is maddening. Please respond to us and tell us WHEN you will fix this, not if.... WE NEED THIS BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS!!!! I can't beleive I went to all that trouble for the one purpose only to find it doesn't even work! I'm so mad I can't sleep now...

"Just a tip for you guys. You can drag a task from the reminder app to the iCal."

So what?

All of us do not want terminated events, that vere out of sight after more than one day: In the former reminder queue unresolved tasks remained where they should remain: STAYING ON TOP! In SIGHT!

.... right hand side from all that bunch of daily events that fade away.

Let me add my voice to the others. Apple, users need some kind of sensibly integrated reminder/calendar app. But really this is part of a much larger, longer-standing issue, which is that Apple has failed for years to take this issue seriously. If you've ever used Entourage or Outlook, Apple's Calendar etc look and feel like toys. Someone once commented that it was inconceivable Steve Jobs ran his life with iCal. Remember as well that when the iPhone first came out it didn't even have a to-do list built in, something I had on my Treo 300 and 600. Wake up, Apple. These products are used by busy grownups.

I used to depend on Apple for intuitive software and practicality wrapped in elegance. Maybe it's Steve's passing, or laziness or arrogance, but whatever the reason, I simply can't depend on Apple in a transforming technological world. Whether it's the serious dumbing down of so many apps and functions in Mountain Lion (including iCal!!!) or the travesty being passed off as progress that is iTunes 11, Apple's lost their edge. I hope they get it back and LISTEN to their users. If not, it may be up to another company to pick up the ball. It's a huge shame.

The main reason I upgraded to Mountain Lion was to be able to sync over the cloud with my macbook, iphone, and ipad. Having my favorite feature of ical disappear has been a hard pill to swallow. I've heard busycal mentioned, are there any free apps that integrate a to-do list the way ical did, and can sync over the cloud? Is there anyway to revert to the previous ical? Even if the to-do list couldn't sync over icloud, having an integrated calendar and to-do list on my macbook feels like a daily necessity for me.
