iCloud mail is down AGAIN

I am NOT a happy camper, Apple - can't get email once again because iCloud Mail is down. Again.

Fix it. Get it right. When I read that it affects only a "small number" of users that means nothing. I'm ALWAYS ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED.

Sorry for the shouting - I haven't had my coffee yet.

Grrrr.

Agreed 100%. In fact, the best part is, now I'm not sure I even want an iPhone 5 anymore. It just shows the lack of care apple puts into their online products. I detest google as a company, but at least they can keep their services up. Apple needs to bail when it comes to online services, they just don't have a clue.

It's taken a lot to inspire me to look at Android, but they've done it.

Still down in Stonington, CT. No incoming email for the past 24 hours. Just published my 585th consecutive daily blog on my MacBook Pro. I switched to Apple from PC in January of 2011 and for the most part have been very pleased. But I am not pleased with Apple's refusal to share what's happening with problems like this.

Guess Apple is kind of like our democratic society---It ain't perfect, but it beats the heck out of the competition. FYI, I graduated from the same Industrial Engineering School (Auburn University) as Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. Maybe I should give him a call.

J. Morris Hicks, blogging daily at hpjmh.com --- but not always receiving emails.

Still down over 24 hours here in London... I didn't think I would ever say that but iCloud has been the biggest Apple product disappointement. Consistant problems. what a joke! MobileMe used to work! I miss it... There is no excuse especially for a service I pay for to have a one liner and a refusal to comment to any news agency. I guess the Steve Jobs era is long gone and Apple is becoming the new Microsoft releasing half baked products. Sad.

I think the media should be alerted to this sorry excuse for service that Apple has shown. This has gone on for more than 24 hours and as one of the commenters has said, my business is suffering. There is no excuse for the lack of communication. I think a media blast about their service just when they are making a big deal with the iPhone 5 should raise their awareness of the problem because this is truly ridiculous that we have no idea what the problem is or when it will be fixed.

Apparently you can't trust iCloud with critical information like email.

Years ago I took a payed Apple DotMac email account. I thought it would be more reliable than a free service or even running a private email server. That decision was based on Apple's excellent reputation and on the philosophy that you get what you pay for.

Since the DotMac era the service has been going downhill, first with Mobile Me and now iCloud. I do not care that it is "free" now-a-days. And has all kinds of new features, like photostream, documents, etc. What is the use, when the uptime is rubbish.

Like in the past I would be happy to pay for quality & reliabilty.

Do we know when it will be back up and running- does this have to do with the new iphone 5 release? this is the most frustrating thing ever. It has been down in Maryland for over 24hrs. When I called last night (apple people) they said that their technicians were planning on having it up at 11pm pacific time. Are we going to be notified or just WOW magically it starts working.

I AM SO MAD!! If anyone knows anything please let me know

Still down in Wheaton, IL. This is starting to feel like the time I lost my Mac mail for a month. The status update has changed to read:

"Mail maybe slow or unavailable, users may experience delays with incoming messages. Normal service will be restored ASAP."

Well, my mail is STILL unavailable, and if this was happening at my company, the IT guy would have been fired by now. You don't mess with people's email. I don't trust that the people at Apple know what the problem is or how they are going to fix it. However I am tired of always being in their 1% regardless of where I live.

Last time this occurred they gave me a year for free, this time I don't think that will cut it. Lately everything seems to be rotten Apples.

This has never happened to me and how do I get a year for free with apple? where do you hear about the updates of what is going on? I also feel like I am out of touch with the world and am afraid of what I am missing and telling people that Icloud was down and that I was part of the 1% I feel people may think is a cop out or an excuse.

Thanks for the reply. PS: love Wheaton- my nephew graduated from there and lives there now 🙂

I have been a loyal customer to apple, and been using .Mac, MobileMe, iCloud from the beginning. Shame on you, Apple! Google has never troubled me like this. Gmail is faster, easier to use, and more powerful! I was going to purchase additional 10GB storage at the next contract renewal, but I've changed my plan.

Make a real innovation on this stupid iCloud service, or you'll be defeated by Google.
