iCloud mail is down AGAIN

I am NOT a happy camper, Apple - can't get email once again because iCloud Mail is down. Again.

Fix it. Get it right. When I read that it affects only a "small number" of users that means nothing. I'm ALWAYS ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED.

Sorry for the shouting - I haven't had my coffee yet.

Grrrr.

It isn't the fact that it is down for some reason, outages can happen. The fact that billion dollar company hasn't the resource to fix this issue ASAP is what bothers me the most. I run a mail server that has less outage time as of now than Apple does. Money doesn't buy everything.

I bet that right before the event things will be fixed. It would be a shame if they weren't...

Porto, Portugal, 28h+ outage and counting...

30+ hours of downtime is insane. Not only that, e-mails sent to my icloud account are not bounced back so the sender has no clue that I have no access to those e-mails.

I'm sure they are not sitting idle but they should have much better contingency/backup plans for these types of scenarios. The other interesting part is that the percentage of people affected keeps on increasing with time!! looks like they are working backwards...

Down in Italy too for the past 30 hours. No business coming in, no idea who's trying to get hold of me (clients used to my responding within an hour by email, rather than phoning). No info from Apple as to what the problem is, nor when it'll be resolved. I'm paying for this (non-)service. If it's not resolved by the end of today, I shall be cancelling and moving to another provider. Perhaps if enough of us draw a line in the sand, Apple will actually deign to put us in the picture and compensate in some way.

Went down in San Diego around 7am on the 11th, I traveled to NY last night and still cant get email so its not area related, Still unable to get mail over 24hrs later.

*** Apple, tell us what is going on, the status page is BS, I called Applecare and they know nothing and say there is no way of speaking to or contacting any of the ICloud team, if true thats pretty sad.

I googled "apple, icloud, support" and found a phone number (877) 473-0278. Called it, and was told that the server is still down and that there might be software conflicts with my computers/ipad/iphone. The tech tried to talk me into purchasing a service package of $169, $199, or $299 per year (prices based on number of devices). Said he could check my computer for software conflicts that could be the problem. Very pushy with the sales. I think he said the service was called iYogi Tech Service. Anyone else had contact with them? Any results???

Anyway, he gave me one piece of information. Said I'd have to restart my computer to get email after the server came back online, and that I may not know the server was back up without restarting. Not sure if this is accurate.

36 Hours and counting in Indiana....

This is beyond ridiculous, it is sheer arrogance on the part of Apple. Their response, or lack of response, is much like going in one of the Apple Stores. Arrogance run amuk. Stop putting out new iphones and get your mail situation fixed. This isn't the first time and peoples' livlihoods are at stake. They believe they are bullet proof. Why has there been so little said in the media about this? GoDaddy's problem was news, why isn't this. Too busy selling iphone 5 that will not get mail from icloud. Day 2 without service in Austin, TX.

Still down at this time. When your business depends on email service I wonder if Apple is committed to us users by compensating for lost business... ;-)

I've been a happy camper for more than a decade with Apple but now that the popualarity has grown I wonder if its just getting to big to even expect the same quality of service anymore, call it the Windows Syndrome.

I'm a patient person but its been more that 24 hrs that I've been out of the loop and I'm feeling frustrated.... HELP! FIX IT.....

Sep 12, 2012 6:33 AM in response to PatsyKB51

Here in belgium already 36u without email. No official explenation from Apple .. only a webapage saying that they wil fix it asap ... what is asap for Apple.

Maybe they should cancel the release of the new iphone and make things working?

Mail may be slow or unavailable. When Mail is available, users may experience delays with incoming messages. Normal service will be restored ASAP

Does anyone know people in the media who cover technology issues? We need to get it into the media if we want any reaction...maybe also inlcude a link to this thread (users have pretty much said it all here....and our sense of frustration comes through (from all over the world!).

Apple is staying silent on the issue because they don't want there to be ANY distractions on today's big launch....we need some support fro the media to shine a light on this debacle!

I have had the same experience here in Lisbon for the best part of 24hrs. My work stupidly depends on this email account and it functioning properly. I am sick to the back teeth with Apple ! First they remove idisk and iweb funcionality which I used for my business now icloud is proving to be a huge waste of time and money (I spent 1000 dollars on mobileme) ! When is Apple going to sort out and invest in its software instead of piling away its money for a rainy day ?

I am starting to really hate Apple and its arrogance ...
