iPhone 5 preorder says it will ship in two weeks

I agree Felix. They would rather have the Hype for their in store release than to satisfy their known customers that pre-ordered. Why should they bother to make us happy? They've already got our money.

Does anyone on Sprint have a 'preparing to ship' status? Mine is still 'processing your order.'

I ordered mine at around 2:35 AM Pacific Time. However, my email from Apple also said it will ship in two weeks. What I just don't understand is if Apple supposedly ran out of pre-order stock in the first hour, then what stock did I pre-order from and why is it going to take this long? Why would this second stock or pre-orders take so much longer to ship? Have these phones not been made yet? Is that why it will take two weeks?

This is my status: The order has been submitted and requires manual processing. If there is an issue processing the order we will contact you.

I called Sprint twice to make sure they don't need anythign else from me. They said they have all that they need and to check back in a couple days for delivery conformation number. But honestly, that status doesn't make me feel very conformtable that I'll be getting my iphone on Friday :-/

I placed my preorder as soon as I got up yesterday. It first said I would be getting mine in the 21st and then changed to October 5. I talked to Apple and expressed my frustration that it had originally said the 21st and then changed. They said there is nothing they can do and if I want it on the 21st, to go to the store and join the line. I told them that would not work as I am a teacher and would be at work until late afternoon. Her response was that perhaps I could take the day off. That was a silly suggestion. I am disappointed with how they did preorders this time and how my delivery changed, but there is nothing they can or will do. I don't know if it would be worth trying to go to the store to try and get one before the 5th of October or not. Opinions welocme.

I'm thinking the same teach. I don't understand why they think it's alright to make those of us who pre-ordered on the first day wait while they sell them to whoever walks in off the street. Whatever happened to customer loyalty? Whatever happened to first come, first served? I guess they figure they have our money, they can treat us however they choose.

Agreed. Also I don't even understand why it will take this long to ship. I mean what's the hold up? Is Apple just being lazy or is there a reason that they actually can't send our phones out on time?

Maybe it's just their way of creating more "buzz", and we'll actually get our phones on the 21st....

Yeah it's actually really messed up. I woke up at 2:30am to order at 3am and it said it would arrive on the 21st. I order and it changes to 2 weeks. I called them many times and just like Alexander said, anyone can walk up next Friday and get one. I would cancel and wait in line but I have a Mon-Fri job and can't. I'm so ****** off.

Just a FYI for everyone though, I was able to get them to change my shipping to 2-3 day instead of standard. It's still not right, but I suppose better then nothing. So try to get them to do that.

I'm on the same boat with all of you. I even called apple today to see if I could pay for expedited shipping so I didn't have to wait until the 5th. They said the shipping they use says standard but is actually expedited. 5 days is not expedited in my eyes. Apple should know they are big. This event is probably the biggest release they have had in awhile. Everyone has been waiting for the iPhone 5 for over a year with a disappointing 4s release that we all thought would be the five then. They should have known there orders would have been swamped and had more supply ready. No ill will towards the 4s I have it but nothing compares to what is now the 5. And as of now order is still processing with the same delivery date 10/5. Going out of town the 4th. Keeping my fingers crosses they will get it to me sooner

Good for you, you slowed down your shipping! All iPhones ship overnight. That is the standard shipping.

Hey man, why would you tell everyone this? It's quick and easy because not everyone knows!

Why wouldn't they disclose it's overnight shipping instead of saying standard with a delivery time of 5 business days?

I ordered mine at 7:45am Eastern time for me and 10:45 for the wife. I got the same response time for both.

it says pre order prosessing today which is new.. i am not sure where this leaves me so any input would be great since this is my first time ordering online.
