wifi sync not working after ios6 update

Is anyone else having this problem. I updated to iOS 6 today on my iPhone 4s, everything else is working just fine, but wifi-sync isn't working, my phone doesn't appear in itunes until i plug it into my computer. Anyone have any ideas?

I've been having this same trouble for months. I have uninstalled / reinstalled and more. Today, I got the iTunes 11 upgrade and hoped that would fix it. NOPE.

So, I tried restarting the apple mobile device service and that did the trick.

So, I've written a short batch file that will restart the service and added that to my scheduled tasks. Every day at 3am, the service will restart. Hopefully that will keep things syncing.

Thanks for the tip.

OK, WiFi sync has been "working" for me since my last post as long as I restart iTunes once in a while ... and that includes with iTunes 11. I say "working" in quotes because I just discovered some unusual behavior. When I sync, regardless of tethered or WiFi, it does not seem to sync my apps. When an app update comes out, I usually download it on one device and then sync all of them, rather than download it multiple times. So when Pages 1.7 came out today, I downloaded it on my iPhone while I was at work. When I got home, synced my iPhone first (over WiFi) and then my iPad, expecting Pages to disappear from the list of apps needing updating on my iPad. It did not. So I took a look at my list of apps needing updates in iTunes, and there sat 45 apps needing updates (most of which had already been updated on one of my iDevices). I synced several other times, both tethered and WiFi, and nothing worked. Also tried updating an app on my iPad and syncing, with the same result.

So my ask is, if you could please check to see if updates to apps on your iDevices are being synced to iTunes for you.

It's not a firewall issue. I've completely shutdown the firewall and no difference.

I also have an application called, "Air Video Server" that allows me to stream my videos to my iPhone/iPad.

If I kill this process, close iTunes and restart the Apple Mobile Devices Service, I get a windows FAULT message during the restart. So, the service fails because of the error.

Then I start the service successfully and open iTunes and it finds all my devices and syncs successfully.

So, I'm going to disable the Air Video service temporarily (I use it all the time), and see if syncing works again.

I'll update this thread with the results after a few days of testing.

I think the only thing was have in common is we all upgraded to iOS 6 and it stopped working.

You are windows. I am all Mac. iMac. Apple router. iPhone. iPad.

It was fine before iOS 6.

I honestly think this is something Apple need to fix and nothign we can do.

Us fixing intermittent problems like this are so hard because replicating the issue is almost impossible.
