wifi sync not working after ios6 update

this icon I use on my desktop. PC-LAN switch ON/OFF.

It's not the showing up problem that is my issue. It's the fact that the wifi sync doesn't work even if it does show up.

Where can I find this at? under control; panel?

on your PC: Start -> Network

Go to Adapter-Settings (sorry, I don't know how it is exact named in English)

drag and draw the LAN-Connection ICON to the screen of your PC

double click the icon an "deactivate" the LAN-connection of your PC

After your PC has been deconnected from LAN -> double click the icon again and the PC will connect back to LAN automatically!

Now start "iTunes" and your PC will start to synchronize with your iPad, iPhone, ... without any problems.

If after some days iTune will not find your iPhone, iPad...just reconnect and connect once again your PC to LAN/WLAN (that's done in 3 seconds) and the synchronization will start again.

This won't help us mac users.

I think your fix will only work for a few days like all the other fixes on this forum. I think the real fix needs to come from Apple who as usual remain silent.

you can do the same with your mac and it will work. Of course this does not fix the Apple "Wi-Fi-Sync" software problem! But is's an easy way to go on.

Hey, I'm finding that "Wi-Fi Sync" is only going to work if your computer is connected wirelessly. If you have a ethernet cable connected, you will not be able to activate wireless syncing.

Agreed. My computer is connected wirelessly. It makes no difference. Wi-Fi Sync problem continues. iPhone and iPad are constantly not up to date, quickly beginning to feel pointless. I'm actually looking to purchase an Android tablet next week. When my Apple stuff no longer "just works", then there isn't as much reason to stick around. Sad day for me.

I have tried just about everything as well. I got a new mophie case thinking it would have a pass thru connection the same as the iPhone 5, but it does not. And with this case one has to wirelessly sync with itunes, I can not get wireless sync to work and I have trie all the suggestions.. I hope this can be fixed.

I just bought a new Mac Mini (2.6 GHz i7 CPU and 8 GB RAM) running Mountain Lion to replace my old decrepit 1.83 GHz Mac Mini with 3 GB RAM and Lion. I have exactly the same problem with maintaining the ability to sync my three iOS devices over Wifi. My system is 100% Apple: Airport Extreme Simultaneous Dual Band and Airport Express to extend the network (connected together with Gigabit wired Ethernet), the latest Mac Mini, iPhone 5 with 32 GB RAM, iPad 2 with 32 GB RAM, iPad Mini with 32 GB RAM. Both iPads have AT&T Cellular data and the iPhones are also AT&T.

All devices are connected to their respective power adaptors and are operating on the local WiFi (802.11n) network. I can get WiFi sync to work for a short time and within less than a day, it generally stops working (either the iOS device when "...looking for Mac Mini..." or the Mac when "...looking for iPad..."), sync never starts because the wireless devices can 'see' the network, the internet, iCloud, but they cannot 'see' the computer with which they need to sync.

This thread has been open since Sep 19, 2012, which is over 6 months! I never had a problem with WiFi sync when I had iOS 5, but it's been a constant problem with iOS 6, despite my replacing my iPhone 4S with iPhone 5, adding an iPad Mini and upgrading my Mac Mini essentially to the top of its line a few weeks ago.

This isn't a "Genius Bar" kind of problem since all of the devices perform well on both the AT&T network and WiFi, with the only exception being WiFi sync with iTunes on my Mac Mini. The iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and Mac Mini are all well within the 90 day phone support window, so the problems should be covered, however, the prognosis is rather dismal, based upon the almost 450 replies to this thread over the past 6+ months!

If Apple have weighed in on this, a knowledge item/fix would be appreciated. If Apple are not involved, then why not? Is the problem even acknowledged? I'm pretty much 'all in' with Apple. I also have a MacBook Pro for personal use and another MacBook Pro for work. Anyone? Apple? Buehler?

Since iOS 6 wifi synching is bust.

I have tried every fix in this thread and at best it works for a couple of days.

If it isn't fixed now it never will be.

And to those with the next question.... Yes I've reported it to apple and pointed them to this topic a dozen times.

Like many others I've given up.

I am also 100% apple and having this issue. It's shocking Apple hasn't addressed this after so long. I wonder how many people would need to bring their all-Apple setups to the retail store and dump them before Apple would take notice and do something about this.

They will probably go out and buy a HTC One instead!

I ordered a Galaxy Tab 2 this weekend. The fact that my iOS devices no longer "just work" was a key factor in my decision. I've owned original iPhone, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S + iPad 3rd gen. I loved all of these devices when they actually worked.

We'll see what happens when I upgrade my phone in the Fall, but if this issue isn't fixed I won't be choosing iPhone. Wake up Apple!
