wifi sync not working after ios6 update

itunes syncing over wifi not working for me either. This is after updating itunes to the latest on a windows 7 machine, and updating to ios 6 on a 4s. Have tried all the recommended solutions including turning wifi on/off, restarting Apple Mobile services, rebooting the router, etc. etc. etc. Apple please patch the problem.

So the recommendation to set wireless to "Auto" under HTTP Proxy settings worked. A very simple change but why was it so hard to find the answer? Why couldn't this have been the default setting? In any case wireless syncing over itunes on Windows 7 and ios 6 is working. Thanks to one of the above posters.

where exactly is this setting?

On your iphone to go Wi-Fi under settings.Tap on the blue chevron next to your wi-fi connection. Scroll to the bottom of the next page and there you will see the options for HTTP Proxy. Select Auto.

TRY THIS:

i dont know but it somehow worked for me

go to Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calendar > Fetch New Data

diable (Push)

set timer settings to: (Manually)

then go to Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calendar > Fetch New Data > Advanced > iCloud

and set it to (Fetch)

The HTPP Proxy settings worked for me too. Thanks to the Genius that figured that one out.

It seems that this update changed so many settings that worked before and that is what is causing so many problems. Now if they could just fix iTunes Match....

powered off wifi router and phone then powered on and finally wifi sync works on iphone 5. and, yes both router and phone needed to be powered off. no change after just router was restarted. but powered off and on phone and then was able to sync through wifi. thanks.

Also , just to keep things the same I set my iPad to Auto as well. It stopped synching. Turned Auto off and it would synch again. I guess something is different between the 2 versions.

Well the auto setting worked for me yesterday, it synced my iPhone and deletd all my Voice Memos, which I was not pleased about.

However, upon trying to sync again this morning...nothing, even with auto selected.

Getting sick of the countless problems with the newest updates. Yesterday all my permissions on OS randomly changed.

Thanks for the tip. I had tried a number of things prior to this including installs, changing the way Chrome runs and even a reset of the iPhone. This looks promising but I had other solutions work once or twice then the problem come back again. I note this also seems to have addressed a problem I was having with a VPN session on the iPad not authenticating correctly.
