ios6 won't connect to wifi

The only thing I did between reading this post and getting it to work, is log in to apples site to post a comment. So possibly the issue has to do with it trying to login to Apple automatically, because once I logged in everything worked fine after that.

I initially had the same problem (on iPhone 4), but it seems to have fixed itself - although it was a possible coincidence.

In settings, there is a new option for 'iTunes and App Stores'. Opening this, I discovered I was no longer signed in. After I signed in, I reconnected to my WiFi network and it no longer displayed that strange unavailable Apple Login page.

Coincidence? Possibly... See if it works for you.

Setting the HTTP Proxy to auto also worked for me

I fixed it.... Setup a static dns entry on your router of 8.8.8.8 (any dns server will work).

Mine did the exact same thing. This worked for me:

I plugged my iPhone 4S into my laptop, opened iTunes, clicked on my iPhone and then under the "Summary" tab, I clicked "Sync this phone over Wi-Fi." It updated a few things (mainly my apps) and then when I unplugged the phone and went into the Settings on the phone and chose my Wi-Fi network, it connected. Now it's working fine over Wi-Fi. Try that!

Had the same problem on my iPhone 4 where it would connect to the home wifi, launch Safari then disconnect. Tried a reboot and still the same problem. Tried to disconnect Auto Join and Forget this network and still the same problem

Finally, I turned the phone OFF, then turned it ON and it worked! Jeez, launch days are fun!

I had the exact same problem. I turned my router off then on again and it fixed the issue. Weird!

Had the exact same issue with 2 iphones 4s's after installing the IOS6 update. Connected fine to wifi prior to and while doing the update.

Resetting network didn't work, forgetting network and logging back in didn't work.

So I cycled the power on the router and all is working again on both phones!

I turned on my bluetooth and then reconnected. It works well now. Don't know why, though... 😐

I was having the same problem. I called Verizon and she walked me through it. All you do is go into "settings" then click on "general", click on "reset" and click "reset network settings". Your phone will temporarily run off then when it turns back on, try to connect again. If its protected it'll ask you to put in your wifi password and you're good to go.

I reset my network settings and now i am connected to WiFi. 😉
