iOS 6 - Maps No Sound

I am also having the same problem with no voice and turn-by-turn navigation. I have a 4S and live in the Philippines, which according to apple support should have or is supported. I don't even get to see the arrow on the street that suppose to indicate my position and all I get is the blue dot. And when moving, the directions written on the top (on a road sign visual) does not change (nor does the km reading) even when I have passed it. Looks like it is just stuck in an overview mode.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Is there a way to re-upload the maps applications?

I have the same problem.. I have a 4S and the maps app works fine but there is no voice at all. Tried many things to get it to work, other than restoring the phone to reinstall iOS 6, which I'm going to do later tonight. And obviously start has been pressed. I'll let you's no if that works :/

I also have an iphone 4s and map nav isnt working (no sound). I'm also from the Philippines. Maybe it is not the setup but rather the software itself. Hope an update is coming soon.

Jay is it just the sound for you? What about the navigation itself? Do you see the arrow indicating your position or is it just the blue dot?

From the Philippines, location indications is also a blue dot and not the arrow. No sounds either.

Noticed this in the support site: "If in an area or on a device where turn-by-turn directions are not available, Maps will track your location and provide onscreen directions without announcements or in-route updates"

I believe the Philippines supports turn by turn as indicated in their website

im in the Philippines and i have the same no voice on map turn turn by turn problem... i was excited to have the ios because of this capability but was disappointed i wasted all day to figure out how to make it work...

Sound and the Navigation itself. Both not working. Do anyone know one in the Philippines that is working?

Philippines here. No voice on my Maps either. I guess Apple screwed this time.

Installed ios 6 on my 4S. No sound. Major disappointment. Hope there is a solution somewhere out there for this. 😕

Maps just show a blue dot. No arrow at all

Turn-by-turn worked once when I followed the full suggested path, and it was changing labels while the blue dot moved forward. However, if I do not follow one instruction then turn-by-turn gets as a "vegetable".

SOUND: Never!

Re-Calculations: Never!

I think we all suppose that a country included in Turn-by-turn will also have Sound + Re-calculations, etc.

I do have turn-by-turn in Chile as stated by Apple. However, without Arrow, Sound, and Re-cal !!!

I have and Iphone 4S, and upgrade to IOS 6.

The fact that turn by turn navigation does not work on the iPhone 4 is unforgivable. Of course, I'm not surprised because now they have their own map they can arbitrarily degrade the features for older phones as they see fit. For many reasons, I'll be sticking with the nav app that I've been using for a while.

at least i am not the only one who faces this issue, me either can't get any siri voice when using turn by turn, can't show the 3d view street either. Apple should pay attention for our feedbacks!!

i guess we need to wait for the upcoming update and hopefully apple really really fix our problems.
