iPhone 4S, iOS 6
Hi, I have the same problem.. iPhone 4, using AssistiveTouch, upgraded to iOS6 by iTunes and autolock doesn't work anymore. Tried the methods mentioned from the past reply up there, the last thing to do if want the auto lock to function, dont' press AssistiveTouch to home screen, use the home button.
It's working, have to wait until next update. 😟
you can upload photos via facebook app tru message/inbox...
I have the same problem too. I'm using iPhone 4s, after updating to iOS 6, autolock doesn't work. I have set to 1, 2, 3...minutes but still doesn't work. I have closed all the running apps and turn my 4s off but it doesn't fix the problem, still autolock failed. I have changed the passcode and nothing happens. Done with the reset also and nothing changed. I always use Assistive Touch as it makes the multitasking more easier so I don't want to disable the same. In iOS 5.1.1 the autolock performs perfectly. How come in iOS 6 doesn't work? I think Apple should fix this bug immediately. Unlike my New iPad, after going to iOS 6, it doesn't gives me the same problem. Apple, please help!
Well ,I was wrong on my previous posts, there is a bug if you use assistive touch. The other comments are correct, if you press the assistive touch button as the last action on your Idevice,it will not auto-lock. But if you touch the screen or move it a little after assistive touch,it will auto-lock correctly. I also see an advantage to this,in which you can control auto-lock. If there is an app that you want to be open longer than the auto-lock time, then click assitive touch and close. This will work great for Reminders and running tasks in a store. But thats just a minor bug.My huge issue is that app store keeps crashing in IOS 6 ! And its seems to be an Ipod Touch 4 issue....
I'm not using Assistive Touch, ipad2, updated to IOS6 but can't seem to get the auto lock to engage at any time, powered off and back on still not working.
I have the iPhone 4 not 4s and mine has this problem.
I tried this and it worked. That is so annoying because my Home button never works so I am forced to use Assistive touch and I absolutely hate it!
After using assistive touch to go to home screen, please flip the page. This will make auto lock to work. In essence, your last function should not be using assistive touch to go to home page. Period.
Yes. Its happening after iOS6 updated on 4s If you are using Assistive Touch. But Its working fine at one point. i.e. Just open any application and dont minimize, now the auto-lock works fine.
Apple fix this. Or It may be a feature for Assistive Touch users?

Having the Same Problem!!!!
Yes, I too find out it is the problem of Assistive Touch.. when assistive touch is not used, autolock works...
Waiting apple to rectify it...
I have the same problem after ios 6 update. iPhone 4 using assitive touch. Now if I am on the home screen with assistive touch, the auto lock function doesn't work. Hoping this will be fixed in the next update.
I have the i4 and have only had this problem since I updated to IOS 6. I only use the assistive touch because the home button won't work properly on my phone which is very annoying considering I only have the phone over a year!!! I have the auto-lock timed for 1 min, I tried turning if off, changing it to 2 / 3 mins and it still doesn't auto-lock. The only time it auto-locks is if I have an app opened and have not used the phone for a few minutes or when I'm viewing something on my phone (msg, emails, setting) again not touching the screen for a few min it starts to auto-lock so there definitely seems to be a bug with IOS 6 especially since it worked perfectly fine on IOS 5!!!
Apple needs to get this sorted especially since a lot of people are having the same issue. Why provide these extra functionalities when their update causes a bug with them!
I have the same problem ever since I updated to IOS 6. I use assistive touch and auto lock doesn't work everytime. The battery drained and my phone died a few times. This is a very serious bug. Apple please fix it.
