After updating to iOS 6 iTunes Match does not load my music

iOS6 updated no problem on my iPad. All other apps working fine (although when are Google releasing YouTube and Maps! 😕)

I activated iTunes Match which was working previously fine, yet after upgrading to iOS6 all I get when I get when I go into music is the main screen with a picture of a cloud and an empty loading bar underneath. I have left this for an hour or so with no change.. I appreciate I have A LOT of music but this isn't right!

I have tried turning match off and back on, also rebooted the iPad but it has made no difference. Any one got any further suggestions.

Seems to me a significant number of you report it as working on one device and not the other. I was at this point, I finally got it to work on my iPad but my iPhone 4S didn't want to play ball. So I did the following:

1. Turn off iTunes Match in settings on the device that is NOT working

2. Turn off iTunes Match in settings on the device that IS working

3. Turn ON iTunes Match in settings on the device that is NOT working - and now it works

4. Turn ON iTunes Match in settings on the device that was was working - it still works

Presto it now works on my iPad and iPhone. It's as if after updating to IOS 6 you can't connect a second device initially while the previously updated device has iTunes Match turned on.

However Music in general seems slow and buggy to operate and has crashed a couple of times on my iPad.

Hope this helps some of you.

Just tried it on my iPhone 4 and it worked. Everything was correctly there withtin a minute. My only question is : Is this only a workaround for people who do NOT want to restore their device(s)? Or will you have to do this even on a device with a "clean" install of iOS 6? Since I THINK I read on this thread that for some people iTunesMatch even didn't work after they completely restored their device(s)

iExplorer kept crashing when I tried to delete the iTunes Media files, so alternatively this solution worked for me:

1. Make sure iTunes Match is turned OFF on your iPhone. (Within your iPhone, go to Settings>Music>iTunes Match - OFF.)

2. Plug in your iPhone to your computer via USB.

3. Open iTunes, in the left hand column under "Devices" click on your iPhone's Name.

4. Scroll down to Options. Click on "Manually manage music and videos"

5. Go to the music tab and click "Only selected playslists, artists, albums, and genres."

6. Then below, choose one Artist to sync, otherwise this process will take some time.

7. Click Sync (If message pops up saying "This device is already synced to another iTunes Library..." just go ahead and continue with the Sync anyways.

8. When Syncing has finished, you can go onto your iPhone and navigate to Settings>Music>iTunes Match - ON. Enable iTunes Match

9. Open the Music app within your iPhone. iTunes Match should load and start working!

I finally had success getting my iTunes Match back by doing the following:

1) Turn off iTunes Match under Settings --> iTunes and App Stores

2) Force close Music

3) Open Music and delete any songs that still show up. You can also do this through iTunes syncing once you disable iTunes Match on the iOS device

4) Restart the device

5) Turn on iTunes Match

This process finally worked for me (or the servers are working again). Been having the same problems like everyone else since installing yesterday. iPhone 4 no problem, iPad 2 nothing but problems. Even did a full restore. Now, after doing what Jager13579 suggested and I turned off Match on my syncing laptop first. Once the iPad rebooted and I turned it on, everything showed up. Gotta say, what a pain! Really don't like the fact that they took away the ability to download individual songs as well. That seems to fly in the face of what iTunes Match is for, you know, downloading my songs, not whole albums. Hopefully Apple will correct this.

Strange enough, I'm having a kind of problem that I think is exactly the opposite of you guys' problems: I can see all my songs in the one big list and also listed as genius genre mixes, the songs do even play just fine and show all their track info's etc. What doesn't work is artists and albums views: none are shown of either, just "you may purchase music from the store etc.". Tried the iExplorer trick and have also tried restarting the phone, Music app, and whatnot.

Thank you, I was having the same problem and this worked for me as well:

"Found a solution on another thread.. It actually worked!

1. Download and install iExplorer http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/

2. Plug in iPhone first, then open iExplorer

3. Delete the iPhone\Media\iTunes_Control folder (you can copy it to your laptop, just in case)

4. Reboot the iPhone

5. Turn on iTunes Match in settings.

6. Start Music app"

After updating to iOS 6 iTunes Match does not load my music
