After updating to iOS 6 iTunes Match does not load my music

iOS6 updated no problem on my iPad. All other apps working fine (although when are Google releasing YouTube and Maps! 😕)

I activated iTunes Match which was working previously fine, yet after upgrading to iOS6 all I get when I get when I go into music is the main screen with a picture of a cloud and an empty loading bar underneath. I have left this for an hour or so with no change.. I appreciate I have A LOT of music but this isn't right!

I have tried turning match off and back on, also rebooted the iPad but it has made no difference. Any one got any further suggestions.

iTunes Match was working on everything I have. iPad, Macbook Pro, Apple TV, except iphone 3G. It was working fine then once I synced Match again it didn't work. My match cloud just sat there. My list of songs would pop up intermittenly and when I checked certain songs they were missing. I tired the suggestion of deleting those files with iExplorer and once I did my Match cloud starting reviewing all the music again and my bar starting filling up. My match account is now working on all devices.

I only used iExplorer to delete the files too. The first time iTunes opened after deleting the files, the first screen you see is "Set up your iPhone". It then gives you two options - "set up as a new iPhone" or "Restore from a back-up". I'm nervous that the back-up will set me right back where I was in terms of the Match issues and I don't want to think about what could happen if I choose set up as a new iPhone.

This sort of worked for me. I don't get the infinite iCloud never-loading bar nor when I exit the app and then re-enter it and choose something, the infinite iCloud neverloading bar reappearance, but now it does not show any of my Playlists. Nada. Looks like all of my music from iClouid is available (artists, albums, etc.), but no playlists. Any ideas?

Music is supposed to be Apple's big thing - major screw up with the iOS 6 update - worked just fine in iOS 5.

I was hoping that my download (iOS6 on iphone 4s) wouldn't have this issue but guess what!......exactly as described above. Artists and albums are all there, althought not all artwork and track lengths are all 0:00. Nothing at all listed in Songs. The icloud screen shows with the loading bar but absolutley no movement on it! Also get the large "other" bar 17.8GB when connecting to itunes. What's going on????

Deleting the 3 sqllitedb files worked for me, but iTunes asked me to Set the Phone up as New or Restore from Backup when I restarted.

(To get around the Set Up as New part)

I chose Set Up as New and then immediately disconnected the iPhone after the option to name the phone (before the sync starts). Make sure you quickly uncheck 'sync over wifi' in iTunes (and click Apply), if you had the option selected.

Tried the iExplorer method. Worked in that I now saw no music and no videos rather than all those 0:00 files that if you touched them would crash the app. Plugged in the phone to download some music/video and it said it was a new phone and offered to restore from a recent backup. Did that, and the phone wouldn't boot properly, just showed the apple logo for a bit then powered down again/crashed. Wouldn't show up in iTunes anymore.

Tried various resets, ended up having to do a full DFU reset. Plugged in the iPhone, let it reflash from iTunes and then unplugged after it booted up again. Rather than restore from a backup on the computer given that had been problematic, I did an iCloud backup instead, and so far that seems to have worked. We'll see over time.

This has been a GIANT pain in the a.

How did I fix it finally?

  • I downloaded and installed iFunBoX (File Manage) http://i-funbox.com/ifunboxmac/
  • Connected my iPhone4S
  • Deleted following files in folder iPhone\Media\iTunes_Control:

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

After that I started the MUSIC app on my iPhone, the iCloud symbol appeared and after some time all my music was back and iTunes Match as it intended in iOS6.
