After updating to iOS 6 iTunes Match does not load my music

iOS6 updated no problem on my iPad. All other apps working fine (although when are Google releasing YouTube and Maps! 😕)

I activated iTunes Match which was working previously fine, yet after upgrading to iOS6 all I get when I get when I go into music is the main screen with a picture of a cloud and an empty loading bar underneath. I have left this for an hour or so with no change.. I appreciate I have A LOT of music but this isn't right!

I have tried turning match off and back on, also rebooted the iPad but it has made no difference. Any one got any further suggestions.

In the end I used the last back-up to restore the phone and it works out, also iTunes Match. The restart was nevertheless strange: The iPhone started to boot (showing up Apple-logo) and crashed like three times. I un- and replugged it and then the boot was fullfilled (appearing and completing progress-bar under the logo).

Pfieuw Apple, what happened to "It just works"?

The steps that Antgeez posted may work but really? I should not have to force my paid for service which was working just fine to work again after updating, it should just work. This really is the first complaint I have ever had with my iPhone and as I use the "streaming" aspect of Match CONSTANTLY on my phone it is very annoying. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS!

It works, but use iFunBox, does the job too and is freeware.

How did I fix it finally?

I downloaded and installed iFunBoX (File Manage) http://i-funbox.com/ifunboxmac/

Connected my iPhone4S

Deleted following files in folder iPhone\Media\iTunes_Control:

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

After that I started the MUSIC app on my iPhone, the iCloud symbol appeared and after some time all my music was back and iTunes Match as it intended in iOS6.

If you have iMatch and your music isnt showing up or you can't get them to play or the cloud stays there forever without progress, you really dont need to download iexplorer, funbox or any other program. I had ALL of those issues and I have a HUGE music library. After reading this post I actually downloaded iexplorer but it didnt seem to work either... or at least I wasnt patient enough. I found another solution from a different thread and it actually worked without downloading anything. I have my music back!!! Yay!!!

1) Force close the itunes app on your phone. (if you dont know how to do this, double click the home button and hold the icon down in the menu bar at the bottom until they all start wiggling.

2) Tap the ➖ and it close it.

3) Go and turn OFF your itunes match in settings > music.

4) Wait a while (I waited 30 minutes just because I set it aside and forgot about it) then go and turn it back ON.

5) Wait at LEAST 30 minutes (again I waited probably an hour or so because I forgot about it) and launch itunes app again.

And voila!! ALL my music is there!! None of it is grayed out anymore, all song titles are there, and they all have a time longer than 0:00. I think iMatch just needs some time to sort things through before you go and try to make it work.

Hope this helps!

Hi all I plugged my iPhone into my mac and did a restore via iTunes, all the iTunes Match problems are now resolved. It is a really poor show from apple but this will get you up and going straight away after its done. Ps I have a lot of music on my match, 150gb and this is now all working and faster than before. A bit of a pain but works, good luck.

P.s this was for my 4s

Well, *now* I'm ******.

After updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 without any problem, I had this iTunes Match problem appear (artists, albums, and songs appear in the Music app, but without song titles and times 0:00, and nothing would play). I followed the iExplorer technique, and that resolved the Match problem (I was able to see my songs with the correct times, and download & play them).

This morning was the first time I connected my iPhone to iTunes since doing all that, and iTunes gave me the message that I needed either to set up my iPhone as a new device, or restore it. I tried the trick mentioned above -- selecting "new phone" then disconnecting the device before the setup sync started -- but that didn't seem to work. So then I selected "restore" and waiting about 20 minutes while the restore occurred. iTunes reported that, after the restore was complete, the iPhone would restart in its cradle, iTunes would find it, and the restore would be finished.

When iTunes didn't find the iPhone, I removed it from the cradle and discovered that it was off. I powered it on and waited, and it turned itself off after the Apple logo displayed for about a minute. It did that over and over again. Eventually I had to enter Recovery Mode, connect to iTunes, and start the 'new phone --> restore backup' process, which is running now.

I don't know if the restore will "stick" this time, but *now* I am highly aggitated about this problem. The Match-fix process wasn't that big of a deal, and it didn't take too long, so I didn't sweat it; however, now I'm sitting in my office unable to use my iPhone because I need to restore it for the second time (so far), all because Apple released an iOS update that ISN'T COMPATIBLE WITH ITS OWN iTUNES MATCH SERVICE ON ITS OWN DEVICES! Had Apple bothered to warn us that its iOS update would screw up our iDevices like this, I would've seriously considered whether or not I wanted to go through this aggravation.

And all of this after I was preaching to a group of people about how the iPhone "just works", without the headaches that seem to plague Android phones. <shaking my head>

Question. In iOS5, iTunes Match allowed me to keep all the files I had synced locally with iTunes, on my phone when I enabled it. I love having my "essential" playlist stored on my iPhone when away from wifi.

Worked like a charm until iOS6, and now, every time I enable iTunes match, any locally stored music on my iPhone 5 disappears.

My question is...if I go with the method with iFunBoX or one of those programs, will this allow that iOS5 Feature? (of keeping music locally when activating iTunes Match? Or will it still clear out my phone and make me re-download my essentials playlist?)

I've been scouring the internet for answers, and there are many unique problems with iTunes Match on iOS6, so I'm just hoping someone here was able to emulate and fix the same problem I have.

Right now I have my rather large essentail playlist synced locally onto my phone, with Itunes Match turned off. I'm really afraid of experimenting, due to the fact that it takes over 2 hours to sync all my music back over in iTunes (and even longer to DL it over wifi...)
