After updating to iOS 6 iTunes Match does not load my music

iOS6 updated no problem on my iPad. All other apps working fine (although when are Google releasing YouTube and Maps! 😕)

I activated iTunes Match which was working previously fine, yet after upgrading to iOS6 all I get when I get when I go into music is the main screen with a picture of a cloud and an empty loading bar underneath. I have left this for an hour or so with no change.. I appreciate I have A LOT of music but this isn't right!

I have tried turning match off and back on, also rebooted the iPad but it has made no difference. Any one got any further suggestions.

The first full restore finished, eventually, without any problems, and my iPhone seems to be back to normal, with iTunes Match working properly. The last backup was a couple of days old, so I lost some recent text messages, and some changes I'd made to how my apps are organized -- nothing critical. Still, though, the fact that Apple allowed this problem to exist is really not acceptable.

I am still experiencing this problem on my iPhone 5, after trying all of the suggested fixes here in this thread. None of them resolved the issues. I've restored, backed up, deleted the iTunes_Control folder, the specific media SQLite files, set up as a new phone, restored from a backup, turned iTunes Match OFF and turned it back ON, and I've even manually synched my phone. After manually synching my phone, I'll still see various artists who aren't listed as they should be.

In general I see ALL of the songs from Match or from my sync listed, but only a selection of albums, and often only very few of the actual artists.

With iTunes Match it's the worst. I see something like 42 artists of more than 1000. I get no errors, and it doesn't hang. It just DOESN'T WORK.

EDIT: Oddly, I have absolutely no problem on my iPad 3. (I tried using this as a restore point too, since it works there. No dice.)

This describes how to not only get iTunes Match working with iOS 6, but how to get back all the allocated memory, that you will probably lost.

Let's use MOBILedit universal all phones manager, available at www.mobiledit.com. Although it is not free, authors provided for this occasion a special code, which provides full license for one phone to end of October.

Visit this address: www.mobiledit.com/vip

Enter the Code: IPHN-1210-3BA6-1B37

And after the basic registration you will get the activation key.

Watch this video, to see steps below http://youtu.be/egiHNx_Zy28

1. Delete these files:

iTunes_Control\iTunes\MediaLibrary.sqllitedb

iTunes_Control\iTunes\MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm

iTunes_Control\iTunes\MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

2. Restart your phone.

After this operation all my music plays, but online from iCloud, phone can't see 25GB of music stored in the phone memory. It is important to get the memory back. I achieved it in this way:

1. Download a few songs from iCloud (don't forget to turn on iTunes Match)

2. Go to Settings->General->Usage

Now you will see the application Music in the list with just those few megabytes of downloaded music.

3. Tap on the Music icon, Edit and Delete all the music.

Now you should have your phone memory available. If the memory isn't released yet then:

1.Turn off iTunes Match.

2.Restart your phone.

3.Turn on iTunes Match.

OK, I struggled with this the past four days and finally found something that worked without having to download or delete anything.

I have two iPhone 4S (one from work and my personal device) and an iPad 3 (New iPad). iTunes Match would not download anything on my devices, even after I tried a full factory reset/restore on my personal iPhone 4S. I had tried turning iTunes Match on and off, turning it back on in certain order on each device, etc. Eventually, it just worked on my work iPhone 4S and my iPad 3, but not on the personal iPhone 4S.

Then I tried this:

1. Go to Settings-->iTunes & App Stores and turn off iTunes Match

2. Go to Settings-->iTunes & App Stores (or even on the iTunes Store), click on your Apple ID (at the top of the iTunes and App Stores section of Settings or bottom of iTunes Store) and then click on "Sign Out".

3. Now, sign back in either in iTunes & App Stores section of Settings or in the iTunes Store using your Apple ID associated with your iTunes Match account.

4. Finally, turn iTunes Match back on.

5. Go to the Music app and let it do its work.

The one caveat is that I had no music files showing on the phone (not even the ones with 0:00) and I had indeed tried the restore first on that iPhone 4S. But hopefully this works for you the first time you try it. Let us know!

After iOS 6 upgrade:

New iPad - no problems with Match

iPhone 4S - totally broken Match.

iPhone 5 - Match also failed same as 4S when Match was turned on during setup.

I haven't downloaded any 3rd party software or manually deleted files, I shouldn't have to do that! Various other fixes described above not requiring 3rd party software have resulted in one of two results: a list of song titles but no times or song info, or else the iCloud symbol with a never moving bar.

I ended up doing a factory reset on the iPhone 5, which totally resolved the problem.

I haven't proceeded with the iPhone 4S. PITA scale 10/10.

For 15000 songs:

Methods: Antgeez, "DiskAid," JpAppleFan

1. Turn off Cellular Signal via Airplane Mode

2. Turn-On Wifi

3. Download and install DiskAid from http://www.digidna.net/products/diskaid

4. Plug in iPhone first, then open DiskAid

5. Delete the File System\Media\iTunes_Control folder (you can copy it to your laptop, just in case)

6. Reboot the iPhone

7. Turn on iTunes Match in settings.

8. Start Music app

Steaming works. Loading time on large playlists is about 30 seconds still, but everything else works great!

Thanks all!
