I’m also experiencing the same issue with my battery draining extremely quickly, Its just gone from 45% to 28% in approximately an hour. Yesterday it was dead by early afternoon.

I’ve turned off location services and all app activity but its not made the slightest bit of difference. I know of many people who have upgraded and not experienced any issues at all but my phone died straight after the install and has not been the same since.

I spend time on the road with my job, my office cannot contact me!

APPLE - This is ridiculous and totally unacceptable.

Well, I did a full backup and restore this morning--took a few hours with the amount of podcasts and music stored. Then I did many of the setting changes suggested here--fetch mail manually or every half hour, no twitter or facebook integration, few notifications and only "find my phone" and safari location services turned. The battery seems to be holding up much better. Now at 79% after 8 hours since being fully charged. Usage has been light--just a few texts and phone calls, and some emailing. Both 3G and WiFi turned on all day.

I believe it was the backup and restore which helped. Will see what tomorrow morning brings.

Hi !

After having tried doing everything, the few settings I have on at the present time, are that the location services & Icloud are on only for the ''find my iphone'' part. (tried with turnung the push-mail ooption etc off, didnt seem to be making any difference whatsoever !!)

One thing that seems to be making a difference, is that, I have deleted ''TuneIn radio Pro'' app. That seems to have bettered the battery life. Probably the new FB app also may make a difference. Will try and delete that and get back to you guys !

Cheers

I was having severe battery drain on my 4 following upgrade to IOS6. Basically losing charge after 4 hours with most known draining features shut down.

Took a visit to the Apple Store. Genius checked my phone and noticed in General/Usage settings that my Standby and Usage were The same (differed by only one minute), which didn't make a bit of sense.. On a diagnostic test there were some corrupted components.

They suggested I do a new phone restore. Instead I did a hard reset and the battery life has returned to its pre-IOS6 state. Rechecked my Usage and now it is tracking Standby and Usage time accurately.

It looks like there was some corruption that took place during the update.

At home we have 3 Iphones, two of them were upgraded to ios6. Since then the battery for those two iphones is draining at about 1% for every 5min without use or at 1% per min when in use. We have reboot the phones and no change at all. We also make sure to close all apps right after use on the multitask bar, that's not helping either.

The other phone was not upgrade, the battery is draining quick too, but not as quickly as the other ones. This phone its draining at a rate of about 5% per hour without use and at 8% while in use. That's including closing all apps right after use.

I'm thinking the battery drainange might be cause by another source, such as apple signals to the phone. Because all phones were working fine till the relase date of the new one.

I'm already upset about iphone 5, not having google maps and other problems. It very disapoining!!!!!!

I know apple have the resources to fix the problems soon, if not I'm ready to move on.

I listened to music for a couple of hours and the phone was at 16% this morning so it's still not right, but better than before I do believe. I am recharging now and then if time permits this morning, doing a hard reset. That is all I can do. Apple needs to do the rest, and quickly.

After upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS6, the battery life is reduced to some 6/8 hours max from a full charge, whilst it used to last almost two full days! I also notice that it takes more time to recharge the iPhone to 100%. Very disappointing. I use the iPhone for work and I am seriously considering going back to BB or to one of those Android or Windows things. And I am a Mac user since the Apple IIc!
