Cannot get mail the connection to the server failed

It could also be that there is a problem with your wifi connection since i have been through this problem many times.

I tried EVERYTHING !!!! Nothing seems to work for my new iPad. The old one works fine!!!! I think I'll just take to to apple geniuses in store soon. rant over

Spoke too soon.

Deleted 2nd account & now the iCloud account can't connect to the server. Don't know what's going on. Mad.

Best go set up my workaround again.

Deleted iCloud account, then did a re-add (through the iCloud wizard) & for now it's all working again. I think I'll not touch it again until tomorrow & see if it still works then.

Yup - just select Gmail instead of exchange & install for email & calendar do the CalDAV for calender.

I am having same issues can download emails from iPad but not iphone5 - been to apple genius shop who could not help me - I have deleted account and reset up but no emails.

Ooops! Was expecting selection of AirplaneMode would lead to more choices. The on/off switch works fine. My bad.
