Ipod white screen HELP!

hey i have an ipod touch 4th gen and this morning it went to white screen and i cannot connect to my itunes because it isnt recognizing my ipod for some reason (i am guessing because of the white screen). When i try to reset my Ipod with holding lock and home button it shows me the apple then goes back to white screen. I have never encountered this problem before so I am stuck, and will this possibly result in my ipod being dead and me having to get another one.

This was coused by me trying to update to ios 6 and it just radomly stopped and wen to white screen.

Just put your ipod to recovery mode and restore it.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!! 199!!! joke! may as well buy a new one. i dont even care about losing everything off it anymore just want it fixed

what if it doesnt do that tho? it wont connect to itunes so cant restore

Have you tried letting the battery fully drain., After charging for at least an hour try a rest, restore with recovery mode if necessary.

I have just encountered the same issue today while updating my ipod. Nothing seem to be working. I will let the battery drain and see if that helps.

After repairs with apple ypu have 90 hardware warranty or original warranty, whichever is longer.

I have the same problem too, and im restoring it right now and in the middle of restoring my ipod turned black. I dont know what to do.
