Why cant I send pics since the ios 6 upgrade? Any clues on a fix?

Since the upgrade No one in the house has been able to send photos.

I have researched and found that you could attempt to "reset" the network settings - THIS DID NOT WORK for us! (but feel free to try it)

Also we tried the basic, shut down the phone for 2 minutes method - THIS DID NOT WORK for us! (but feel free to try it)

I am so at my wits end I could SCREAM!

Apple is supposed to be the WORLDS BEST! Then they bring out THIS kind of TRASH?!? Really? Siriously? (yes - that was a total BLAST at Apple)

I enjoy using my camera but LOVE being able to send the pictuers to ppl in the family when I take them... as does everyone else in the household.

I'd appreciate if anyone had any clues on a avenue I have NOT attempted please let me know.

Thanks every so much!

U.S./NORTH AMERICAN USERS - DO NOT WIPE YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD!

After updating to IOS 6 I had the same issue on my iPhone 4S and 3rd gen iPad. I could send text messages via iMessage, text/MMS, or email. A close friend who had been active in IOS 6 testing mentioned that this same issue had been a problem during a couple of the beta stages.

He suggested I reset Network Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).

AND...

...IT WORKED!

(I had to do this to both my phone and iPad - Both are now sending photos exactly as they should.)

While it ***** a little (I have several secure WiFi connections set up while I travel) it was a small price to get this issue resolved.

Kara-

I'm so sorry you had to endure Apple Tech Support. In my experience, they seem to always be the last to know if there is a problem and how to fix it. I hope this solution works for you as it did for me.

I just spent over two hours on the phone with Verizon who then transferred me to Apple and I have done every sort of reset imaginable...

if you go here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4203 it says you NEED "Cellular Data" on to send MMS.

Firstly, I cannot afford a data plan and I'm still using the $15 150mb from verizon because I NEVER use it, I'm always using Wi-Fi.

Second, I had a terrible Android for two years - but, I was able to send MMS with the mobile network turned off... almost reason enough to keep my Android and trash this iPhone.

The rep(s) I talked to at Apple couldn't figure it out so I guess I'm screwed.

i too have tried EVERYsingle thing every reset every change this or that. i cant sent pics through messaging or even textfree now either since i stupidly updated to ios6. unbelievable that they knew during the beta test and released it anyways. oh and another thing...every single facebook contact is now in my phone contact. and people i know personally that dont have facebook, now have their names linked to random names in facebook. no way to UNDO that cr*p either. i am so very disgusted with this. btw i have iphone 3gs and until thursday i was sending text pics all the day long.....how does using google translate help with that website when we dont have that option in settings at all?i cant change cellular data network nothing. COME ON APPLE ***

I am having the same issue. The forums have no info that is working and I am pretty sure apple is aware of this major issue. Still at this time I am having the issue of not being able to send mms messages. It works on I messaging and sending messages via email but if the person I am messaging doesn't have an IPhone the messages are undelivered. Help us please apple! I know you see this forum.....

They know about it now, seeing as I talked to 2 different techs and 1 senior advisor, and none could help so I've been referred back to Verizon (it was 11pm by then and they were closed so I'm waiting...) I'm sure I will be back and forth with both companies all day. I'll keep you all updated if anything gets solved.

Just thought I would UPDATE everyone on what has happened -

Spent about 30 minuets inside the local AT&T store having a new SIM card installed in a back-up Samsung Android Phone that we had, due to the fact that Apple still it playing the "Dumb" card every time we talk to them about this same issue. Husband depends on his phone for work.

However, what I wanted to let you know is this; while I was there that 30 minutes waiting for a SIM card which is a normally 2 minute install... but due to the problems and the release of the new iPhone 5 the store was packed! So, I had to wait...

I am standing there talking to the sales person that checked me in, discussing my "problem" I am asking him if there have been others with my same concern in as well?> He said there have been some.>So I start to peddle aroud the floor a little while I am waiting, I ama being "nosey": trying to over hear some bits of conversations of each station what are these people hear for?> OH!! eureka - another iOS issue and HE IS ANGRY! moving on...> new iPhone 5 *Yea good luck with that* moving on> android phone *smart purchase wish we'd a stuck with ours!!* moving on> IN THE DOOR STORMS AN OLDER GENTLEMAN FUMING MAN SCREAMS - SOMEONE FIX MY "GodD*&^%" Phone the F*&^%$ THING WONT WORK!!!

I spun around and glared waiting for the storm troopers to come running out of the back room to carry him out of the building because of his disposition and attitude.... The salesman that helped me IMMEDIATELY approached him and took his iPhone from him and said "Sir, Let me see if I can help" the older man said in reply, "YOU F*&^%**&^% BETTER FIX IT I NEED IT FOR MY JOB!"

(inside)I was dying laughing! Because I personally am dealing with the very same thing.. But just knowing that someone else is that FURIOUS and WENT OFF on AT&T I had to laugh!(inside) Because we all know $HIT rolls down hill to we knew that AT&T was gonna catch some HEAT over this one at some point in time, LOL!! 😁

My "helper" walked up to me to assist me and we walked to his "station"; he began to help with chaning out the SIM card...

He asked my "why" When I told him (wont go in to detail you all know the story - if not READ THE THREADS), he said that iOS has been a problem for the iPhone 4/4s seems to be a compatibility issue...

I was looking for my ID when he said that, I looked up and didn't mean to be but I was RUDE AS HE&& and I said, YE THINK? But the idiots released it anyway even knowing the BETA version wasn't ready for the market, just to make the release date for the new phone! Rather than push the date BACK on the phone - which would Oh heavens make them LOOK 'bad' they LOOK like pure MORONS now for releasing something that NOW has to be either recalled or the ENTIRE WORLD has problems with..

Is Apple trying to create a RIOT> OMG! HOW STUPID OF THEM and I literally Slapped my forhead with the palm of my hand and went "Duh!"

He said, "I know, right."

Long story I know, Sorry... Had to tell ...

Husband has ANDROID phone again and says he will NEVER use Apple products EVER AGAIN!

😟 Good bye Face-Time Apple you really just pi$$ed me off

And Oh BTW - The Sr. Advisor[Matt-not with holding names any longer] that said he WOULD stay in touch with me via e-mail.... never sent me an e-mail! (No I am not suprised!)

Sep 23, 2012 3:44 AM in response to Kara_71

Update: I just spoke to a very snotty Verizon rep on the phone who told me that "there are no phones that can send or receive mms without being connected to the mobile data network". I proceeded to tell her that all non-smartphones could send and receive mms without Internet or even requiring a data plan , and that my android could send them with 3G off. She then proceeded to repeat herself as did I until I hung up because she obviously didn't understand what I was saying . I'm going into a Verizon store today to show them both my iPhone and android. Will update again.

Sep 23, 2012 7:54 AM in response to aai92

oh aai92 thats a good one. like i mentioned i have a 3gs, its on att GO-PHONE. yes, go-phone prepaid. and up until thursday i could send pictures and whatever to whoever on any carrier whenever i wanted. first of all at&t told me i could NOT use a go-phone sim on an iphone it would NEVER work. well it does, rather it did. now i have a stupid phone with calls and texts, I am thinking i may as well dig out my old motorola razr that i dunked in the lake. it works BETTER at this point.

I guess I should have mentioned that BOTH our phones were also on GO-Phone plans. Have been for over 6 years. So this is something that im also in agreement with you was intentional! I am furious and have to let you know that husband has gone back to the old back-up ANDROID we had in the bedside drawer. [Which was a Samsung]

And as of 10 minutes ago I posted my white iPhone 4/ 16g FOR TRADE on a site on FB for an ANDROID!

I am so hurt by what Apple has done.

Sep 23, 2012 11:45 AM in response to Kara_71

I am too. i wish i hadnt just bought this phone a month ago. because of that i cant afford to get another of any kind. im so disapointed with all the nonsense. like on fb i have half of 200 'friends' i dont know just for games. now, they are all in my contacts list on my phone. i have to individually go in and edit each one to delete the contact. i so believe this mms thing was intentional. just the fact that every single iphone in the world now cannot send mms.....geez i wonder.

Why cant I send pics since the ios 6 upgrade? Any clues on a fix?
