iPhone 5 wifi issues
My iPhone 5 connects to wifi networks and remembers them, but receives absolutely zero data through the network. LTE and 3G no problem... Off to the repair shop (after 3 hours of ownership...) or any ideas??

Had the same problem with the iPhone 5 here in Italy.
Got it on Friday, the day it was relased, got home and picked up my wifi network created by my timecapsule, but the speed was horribly slow both in 5ghz and 2.4ghz (my 3g connection was even faster!!!) while the iPad 3 and my girlfriend iphone 4s were doing great all on iOS 6.0.
Got the iPhone replaced today directly via Apple and....still no luck, exactly the same issue as the previous one.
Don't know if it might be an hardware problem (two iphones out of two? very weird...) or a software problem with the new wifi chip installed in the iPhone 5....
Don't know if I should call back apple or wait for an update....
I updated my 4 iPads, iPhone 4 and purchased an iPhone 5. All function fine with wifi. My iPhone 5 and new iPad with wifi + 4g, maybe I am fortunate but I found out years ago with router issues even when I got my Airport Basestation that the channel for Apple works best under channel 9. Maybe this will work.
qkpham, I am on my second one now. Here's the info on both phones.

How did you find this? I've got the apple made chip btw....
(asked for a third phone right now...that should arrive shortly, hopefully it will be with the intel chip, unfortunately I haven't got any apple store nearby, all I can do now is hoping...)
What? My conclusions? Well, Once I got my new replacement and I saw it worked right away without doing any configuration in my router or phone. I just started to look for differences and the WiFi chip manufactured sounded like a good theory. Of course, this theory can be validated if all the users with WPA2 issues can verify for me if their chip were manufactured by Apple (instead of Intel, the good workign one).
Dandricker, Is yours not working specifically because of the AES bug? Please let us know. That's what C4LOCO is talking about. There are a number of wifi issues being mixed together in the discussions, just want to make sure exactly what your issue is before we throw out his theory.
Mine has the AES bug and it's 98:
More people with the AES bug should post the first few digits of their Wifi Address. You can find it in settings>general>about.
I'm going in for a replacement today. Will see if I can get an Intel Chip instead.
I have not explicitly tested mine for the AES bug, but I have tried connecting to 4 different routers running WPA2 (time capsule, Cisco orig firmware, Cisco ddwrt firmware, Dlink) all 4 would connect and get an ip but not pass traffic. All 4 my wife's iPhone 4 ios6 could connect to but she complained everything was running slow. I did not perform a speedtest on hers yet. I am going to try a DFU reload tonight.
Thanks C4R. I wish I knew why some of my tests are as expected and some less than half. It seems to me either it should work or not work.
BTW, what is that indicator between your batter percentage and blue tooth?
did anybody have success with a brand new setup iphone 5? thinking perhaps something from my backup (from the 4 series) contributes, but hesitant to start it all over fresh unless this can be pinned down better.
Thanks for sharing.
As of now 100% of people who replied my post confirmed having an Apple WiFi chip (This is only related to the WPA2 zero traffic issue).
Here are the two options:
a) Either you have it replace with an iPhone5 using an Intel WiFi chip, or
b) You can wait for apple to release an update (IF is diagnosted software issues).
I would definitely (and I didn't) wait for an update since they have not even acknolwedge issues with WPA2 networks.
