iOS 6 battery life terrible

Battery is hot garbage. Don't think I will ever buy another Apple product ever again.

Apple please listen and get a fix out ASAP on the issues with battery life after updating to 6.0.1. Shame on you, my iPad is draining at lightening speed and I am getting fed up with no fix on this being sent out to customers! GET ER DONE AND SOON!!!

I'm glad to see some other people are experiencing the same problem because I'm going crazy both with my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 the battery dies off completely. The iPad is worse than the iPhone. Since I did the upgrade my iPad lasts about 2h I have tried to reset the iPad and set it as a new one but still does not work. Please apple do something with it or let us go back to the previous software version!

yes I agree, my iPad 2 is much worse than my iPhone and I am really getting frustrated that Apple has not come out with a fix for this yet, it's ridiculous how fast the battery is being depleted and lesson learned I will never do another update again if this is the result.

What were u running back then? Note that to have a longer battery lifespan. Consider reducing the brightness to medium. Activate airplane mode to stop those pesky signal processors. Otherwise. BUY A POWERBANK TO SOLVE THE ISSUE!

why would we buy hardware to fix a problem that appeared only after they released v6 ????

According to the other I.T. experts we had debated. The one thing that eats most of the battery life is the signal processor the most, the brightness, the background apps like location services, the accelerometer and the gyroscope, the alarms from calls, messages, and even notifications. They say thinner is better. But one thing in common is if you reduce the size of the unit. What will mostly affected? That's why most of those on the go will purchase a power bank which eliminates those 'OOPPSSS! I'm bingo on my phone' which is the term for low battery. It's your choice. I cannot assure your opinion when it comes on budget.

Oh God!! I'm so mad. I seriously wish I could co back to Ios 5. This ios 6 upgrade is draining m battery as I write this post. I had 100% an hour back and haven't used the ipad at all and now that I'm working on it I can see the battery depleting!! It did not happen earlier. In fact I used it more before the upgrade than I'm doing now and i lasted me for almost two days and now it won't even go through the day.

Please help Apple. Atleast let us downgrade and give us back our battery life, our google maps, our app store, our youtube...

It's a hard lesson to learn but it's a lesson I learnt a few years ago and I really do sympathise with you for trusting Apple to give you a reliable update and being let down so badly. I never ever jump into the deep end and download Apple updates for any of their products without waiting a good time interval and going onto the net and forums like these to see if the updates have caused any issues for people who couldn't wait and I've always been vindicated. Given that iOS6 has been a disaster for so many people I'm definitely not going to risk bricking my iPad or iPod Touch it just isn't worth it.

Not allowing users to "downgrade" is a facet of Apple's service which really lets it down, Apple really needs to get to grip with this issue unless of course it couldn't care less about its [loyal] fans!!

My ipad2 battery life has taken an astonishing and noticeable hit since upgrading to ios6. I wish I never did it. I think messages is the culprit - whenever it's loaded, my battery life drops off at a staggering rate compared to io5. Bitterly disappointed by apple's lack of response to this MASSIVE bug

Why did you update to ios6 where it is not a stable version? What are you expecting after upgrading to ios6 than the 5.1.1?

Yes,my ipad3 battery life also trrible..what i do now is redues the brighnes to low..can save the battery but not to much..love ios5

I suppose the moral of this sad catalogue of disasters that iOS6 has brought upon iPad owners is that great care and patience needs to be exercised when Apple brings out updates in the future.

No rushing to be the first to download them!!!

Then why have Apple not acknowledged this glaring defficiency in their product? Why have the prominent tech blogs and journalists publicised it more?

And how do I revert to iOS5 ? This would surely solve all our problems

Hey Guys , I have the latest version 6.0.1 and did a complete battery drain then a full charge. Now my iPad works perfectly. It was full charge at 9:00 am, in 9 hours the battery went down only 10%. I was using it only on wifi.
