When I Reset All Settings things improved for me regarding battery life. However, I still can detect poorer than iPhone 4 battery performance. I really am trying to avoid the install as new even though the reports here are positive that it is successful. First I'm trying a couple things to see if I can identify what is causing the poor battery performance.
I've turned off in Settings, Privacy, Notification Services:
1. Passbook; I plan on using Passbook, but I don't care if I have to tap on the place I'm going to to get my card up on display.
2. On the Location Services screen, scrolling all the way to the bottom reveals System Services menu. There I turned off Location Based iAds. While it seems logical I'd want to see ads near me, it's illogical to think I want to see ads 🙂 let alone at the expense of my battery.
I figure that these two settings are like theReminders at location setting in that with all of these activated iPhone is using power constantly determining one's location.
Though only an hour ago, I kind of have the feeling these changes aren't really helping, but I'm really trying to avoid reinstalling all those apps, settings, etc. again. I guess it's like upgrading Mac OS X, do you do a clean install or rely on the easier choice of just letting the OS X installer upgrade the OS.
