Update your .netframe work to version 4 (see other help posts by apple support)

Follow the instructions on this link, basically un-install everything, remove programs that says they are made by apple inc. (using add remove program)

http://www.reimageplus.com/fix-windows-127-error/ (Many thanks to reimageplus.com)

You will also need to check and verify that the following folders have been removed:

  • C:\Program Files\Bonjour
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes
  • C:\Program Files\iPod
  • C:\Program Files\QuickTime
  • C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
  • C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR

dont forget to remove icloud alsoyou dont need to delete your itune music library though If any of these folders still exist, delete them along with their contents. (if you cant delete them, right click and go to properties and then security and change the control of the fold to you)do this for files under program files and program file (x86) on your computer once you have deleted everything, restart your computer. Then I repaired my registry using a registry repair program. Important:- instead of installing itunes I installed quick time, which installs apple application support (this is the corrupt file which is causing all the issues) i then installed itunes and it all worked fine, should take no longer than half hour to fix 🙂 hope this helps

If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)

  • Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
  • Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple and note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
  • Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation.

Okay ... so it does reinstall, but you get that message when trying to launch after the reinstall?

If so, a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try. (The 7s can indicate trouble with other software components, such as Apple Application Support.) For instructions, see the following documents:

Hi there,

Earlier iTunes (and supporting applications) need to be completely uninstalled before you can install the new version. Here's the complete Apple info on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

Mobile device application will most likely fail to uninstall, so you would need to visit its location(s) and manually delete the files then folder(s). The location of the folders is documented in this link from Apple.

Hi Ktrainhurricane.

I am not sure what steps you followed (you replied to someone other than me). The nuts and bolts of it is this: Control Panel uninstaller feature can't uninstall the Mobile Device Application. I'm guessing this is somehow the problem with the install. What you need to do is go to the path where it is (find it in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) and manually delete FIRST the files in /common files/apple/mobile device application/ and THEN the folder (mobile device application) itself. If you try to delete the whole folder and files together it will give you errors. After everything is gone that is required to be gone in the apple support link, then restart your computer and install the latest version of iTunes. It worked for me, anyway. And others.

Spent hours working on this problem. Started with Microsoft and went downhill from there. Not sure why this problem took so long to pop up in comparison to some of your posts but it did today. FRUSTRATION!

Flinneybee had the fix nailed. 30 minutes was just about right to fix the Error7 (Microsoft error 126) problem. Uninstalling all things apple and reinstalling Quicktime prior to Itunes did the trick. Should have started at the message boards.

Flinneybee, Thanks again.

Itunes walked me through it

1. Go to control. And check to delete programs

2 see. If there is a microsoft.net framework

3. Right click and repair it .

Restart computer

If that does not work the remove all of the apple stuff

Restart computer

Go to www.apple.com

Download itunes there . Do NOT use any other place to download itunes

Note sometimes just repairi g that microsoft.net file does it.
