Iphone 5 signal loss

Anyone else having a problem where when you lose signal for a lengthy period time such as on the train the phone doesnt find signal again when you are clearly in a area that would have signal. Only way around this for it to stop saying "No service" is to reboot the phone.

It reboots and has signal again

Anyone else getting this problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Exactly the same issue on Three in UK.

Go into an area of poor / no signal and when you come back to a good signal area occasionaly the phone stays on No Service and does not find the signal again. It will stay on No Signal idenfinately until you toggle Airplane Mode On / Off and then bosh - back to full signal.

Very frustrating because if phone is in pocket you dont know it is stuck on No Service and you miss all your calls even though you are in a good service areas - have to keep checking

iOS 6.0.1 did not fix the problem, was booked into Genius Appt at Apple Store next Saturday and was going to demand a new phone, but maybe there is hope it is still a software issue and 6.1 will fix?

Well i'm having the problem where every time i lose service and after regaining it again, it connect to edge instead of 4g. It gets annoying having to turn on and off airplane mode everytime i leave my house. I tried everything to fix it so after reading that the ios 6.1 bata 2 fixed the problem I now have some hope again. Hopefully it comes out soon and fixes the issues.

keeping my fingers crossed

Yeah I'm on AT&T in the USA and having the issue too. Funny thing is apple blames AT&T and AT&T blames apple and no one has a fix yet. Got a new SIM card and a replacement phone and still no fixes. This is starting to sound like it definitely could be a ios problem.

Let me know if its still happens after your running the ios 6.1 Bata

Just had the same problem occur on my Iphone 5.

Was fine yesterday then last night lost the signal completely and could not get it back even when powering down and flipping between aircraft mode.

Tried the carrier reset and is now working.

Thanks guys.

Hope Apple are reading this. I have been a Nokia fan for 15 years and this is my first time with an iphone..

Hope they are working on a fix.

Hi. I have the iphone 5 and when it loses signal for any length of time it will not re connect on its own , so unless you notice and force it to search (airplane mode off and on again) you will miss calls ! How useless is that ! I am very disappointed. Why don't Apple at least acknowledge these problems and say they are working on it .That maybe you could accept in the short term ! I am in the UK on EE network and have tried ALL of the fixes suggested.THEY DON'T WORK :-( !
