Iphone 5 signal loss

Anyone else having a problem where when you lose signal for a lengthy period time such as on the train the phone doesnt find signal again when you are clearly in a area that would have signal. Only way around this for it to stop saying "No service" is to reboot the phone.

It reboots and has signal again

Anyone else getting this problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

I did a complete reset of my 4S and reloaded my apps manually, rather than from a backup, and ... the problem was still there ! Was a complete pain, as was in town earlier in the week and couldn't get a signal at all, despite toggling flight mode, switching on/off etc ..

Off to Apple store this morning, and I now have a replacement 4S, for no charge despite being 48 days outside of my warranty!! Some faith restored in Apple customer service...

The replacement seems to be free of the issue, however haven't had much chance to check it out yet, but fingers crossed...

I have exactly same problem. Phone replacement, ios 6.02 update, reset network, reset the phone manually all did not work. It is not sim problem as I put the sim in iphone 4s using adaptor and problem could not be replicated. I think apple need to bring up the solution fairly quickly as the problem started to become stincky. If not they should be prepared to make a clause to say that iphone 5 is not recomended for professionals and in situations when critical phone calls need to be received. With the phone unknowingly can be in "No Signal" status for hours before you discover about it , makes the phone a bit of a problem. Beside this is not what you expect to get from a £600 upgrade.

Same problem here on iOS 6.0 - I haven't updated it yet. About a week ago it just stopped getting cellular service and always says "Searching..." I have my wife's iPhone 5 in my other hand, and she is getting full signal. Between scuffing, the maps fiasco and now this issue, I'm thinking that the iPhone 5 is a turkey, which is sad because I loved my iPhone 4 (and 3G for that matter) and never had any issues.

You have a great point here. You're right - you never know whether the signal is there or not. If you get a voice message about an emergency, you wouldn't know until it randomly popped back on.

This could be horrible. What if something terrible happened to my parents and I miss the opportunity to say goodbye because I wasn't getting calls for hours at a time?
