iPhone 5 Camera Horrible Purple Lines Down Pictures!

Me too only in camera app but some are geeting in other apps also..

I have the same problem on my iphone5 only after ios 7 update. Happened 4 times , all 4 times i was using camera taking pictures at the same place without a network ( i was at the basement ) i guess the phone was trying to search for network and the purple lines will appear when i have my cam apps on. At first i thought is to do with interference for the basement where i park my car is full of security cameras. But i notice that if i use my camera app at a place without a network n the phone search for network then the purple lines will appear on the cam app. Try n please apple tell us what to do ? Send it back n u will replace a new one to us ??

U also getting problem while using 2g and was your phone warm when this happend

Am always on 2G but don't know if the phone was warm/ hot. I see this is something to do with camera sensors. Did you manage to resolve this issue?

This has nothing to do with sensors because i have replaced two iphone for this problem and replaced one also have same issue i think its normal for iphone 5 when phone is under heavy usage its uses more power and becomes warm and mostly it occurs in 2g only if u want to use camera perfectly than use airplane mode when u use camera on 2g or kill all aps in background and use only camera i hope this is helpful to you..

I managed to replicate the issue using these steps:

1) disable Wifi and 3G.

2) Wait for your phone to switch to GPRS/2G.

3) Send a iMessage or email - anything that involves network access.

4) Open Camera app while the phone is using the network and you should see the glitches.

Let me know if this works for you as well.

Yaa that only i told you it occurs only while using 2g cos i think the phone use more power in 2g...and iphone 5c and 5s didnt have this problem so its definately some minor design problem in iphone5..but no problem even if this line in camera comes the phone works perfectly..

Having the same issue. Pink banding when using camera app. Phone is still under warranty, I believe. Should I try to have it replaced?

Same thing happened with my iPhone 5. Managed to take a screenshot when it was happening and showed apple store. They replaced it for me free of charge (it was still under warranty). The assistant told me he had seen cases of it before and that it was in fact a hardware issue and therefore reboots and restores of the phone wouldn't fix it. Hope your issue is resolved too.
