iPhone 5 Camera Horrible Purple Lines Down Pictures!

Hi, Occasionally when I am taking pictures or videos with the main camera I get loads of streaks of purple/blueish lines and if I take the photo while these lines appear they actually show up on the photo. So I think it must be a hardware problem. I'm in the UK on o2.

the same thing.
rear camera on iPhone5c 16Gb died.
Rarely, magenta-like gradient instead of the normal image. Most of the time just a black screen .
Resetting to a factory state didn't help either.



Apple representative confirmed it is a hardware problem

I am going to send it through UPS back to Apple today.


Hope, I won't see that or any other issues after that.

Internet? Do you mean, WiFi or cellular network provided data stream? These are different devices in iPhone.
Second - about warming up -- it doesn't seem to be the case in my situation: once the camera died it stayed dead even after resetting the phone with the factory reset. It just gradually decayed from giving some purple -magenta-ish like flash on the screen and then resuming normal operation, to giving out simply black screen and no image whatsoever. Once it reached that last "black screen" state, it stays there and no reset could get the camera back.



Pinpointing the exact cause without knowing schematics is close to pure speculations which woun't help neither Apple users nor its engineers.

there was no problem at first. (This was less than one month old iPhone5c)
Then, couple of days ago, while running some code samples from Apples website, I noticed that the rear camera started to behave strangely. I thought that it was some glitch in code and it caused this to happen.


Then later the same day when I first encountered the problem, I realized that the cam app and any code samples I was using didn't work anymore.


Now, it doesn't work all the time when I am trying to open any app that requres the rear camera.

Technically speaking, NOW the iPhone is on its way to Apple's facility.

Folks,


I got my iPhone replaced 2 weeks back (after 3 weeks of battle with local service center). Please contact apple with the following steps to replicate this issue. Apple confirmed that this's a hardware issue. Don't waste your time during the contract and get this replaced ASAP.


1) disable Wifi and 3G.

2) Wait for your phone to switch to GPRS/2G.

3) Send a iMessage or email - anything that involves network access.

4) Open Camera app while the phone is using the network and you should see the glitches.
