iPhone 5 Camera Horrible Purple Lines Down Pictures!

Hi, Occasionally when I am taking pictures or videos with the main camera I get loads of streaks of purple/blueish lines and if I take the photo while these lines appear they actually show up on the photo. So I think it must be a hardware problem. I'm in the UK on o2.

I've been getting the same blurry purple lines on my iphone 5.

The first time I sent it to the service provider, they kept my phone for 10 days and dismissed the issue saying it is non-existent, and that I would have to show them 'proof' of the blurry lines issue. After a couple of days of receiving it back from the service provider, I got the blurry lines again, and this time I managed to capture a photo of it.

I sent the phone back to the service provider with the photo, but now they've dismissed this issue saying it is caused due to 'environmental' conditions, and therefore they cannot do anything about it or issue me a replacement phone.

I'm extremely frustrated and don't know what to do about this.

Very disappointing and shameful service from Apple!

Liam.Slack: My phone is under warranty. But the service provider is refusing to accept that this is a hardware issue, and is instead blaming it on 'environmental' conditions. I even emailed Mr. Tim Cook about this, who referred this case to his Executive Relations in Ireland, Mr. Steffen Morr. After several arguments with him, he too is refusing to accept that this is a known hardware issue, and is also blaming it on 'environmental' conditions! I then told him about this discussion in the support community, and his answer to that was, "anyone can write any nonsense in the support community, therefore you cannot believe what people say or discuss in that."

He's either racist towards Indians, or just doesn't care about the grievances faced by loyal customers!

Jai baba: Mine is a 5, not 5c. And I haven't really paid attention whether it happened while using cellular data. Will check and let you know.

killhippie: Yes, this is an Apple store. We only have 1 store where I live.

The Apple store claims that replacement is only handled by the service provider, and therefore they have no authority over it. My handset does not have water or any other damage.

I just received my phone back from the store.

The service report given by the service provider states "Replacing the iPhone won't solve the issue. This is related to the environment."

I seriously cannot see the logic in that!
