iPhone 5 can't send SMS - gets an error when sending SMS

My iPhone is unlocked and I've checked server status and it's unlocked,so the problem is not about the lock, im sure it's bug inside gsm+CDMA version of ios software.

It is indeed seems like a software bug. But I'm more inclined to say that the bug is from Sprint firmware, not from the iOS itself, as it seems like Verizon phones work fine, and they are the same phone models.

As more reports we send, as faster Apple gonna move

And about facetime and imessage: you can use your apple ID instead of phone number to use those services. It works fine with me.

I submitted my feedback. No response from apple after a looong time.

As for apple id

I used two ids with the phone and it keeps saying incorrect id or password.

As for the sms : the workarounf is to use the subject field and send MMS instead of sms

i am from the philippines and i have the same problem. can't send sms. but when i bought my iphone 5 i was informed that it is factory unlocked..

oZZy_tv, the locked/unlocked status remains strange, 1 week ago this website http://dev.mk/2012/08/dev-mk-iphone-imei-checker-with-simlock-status-what-happen ed/ was showing an unlocked status for my phone but now it says "locked" while Apple says to me that it's unlocked in their database ... I am quite sure it's a locking process failure not an IOS bug, 1 guy in Brazil has the issue solved after restoring the device and Apple support action on unlocking

so how is the process on this? i restore it using itunes on my laptop then what do i do?

I've also read the forum post where Mauro Gracitelli says about his unlocked phone by Apple. But I've called Apple twice and both times I spoke with a senior support adviser and both times he said that there is no way Apple can unlock the phones (which is an official bull s**t I'd say). Anyway, his post isn't very clear, he says he doesn't know what they did, so it's no help for us.

We need a solution for all of us, not just some separate cases that don't even know what have been done there...

There is no solution for now for this SMS problem.

There is just a workaround to send MMS messages instead of SMS messages ...
