Same here. Paired right away to iPhone but not to iPad.
I called and was told how to fix the Jam Plus. You hold down the power and play buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds. It will make a tone and then it will pair to the iPad!
Hooray, it worked, thanks!
I had emailed them, but no response.
THIS WORKED, Thank you.. Switched from iPhone 4S to the iPad 4 connecting to the speaker... Make sure only one device's Bluetooth is on...
Love this speaker!
Exactly this is the trick. Unpair with other devices first and then pair with iPad. Then it works.
Thank you jehna
In addition to what jehna said: you don't even need to hold down the power button with the play/pause button.
All you need to do to switch devices is hold down the play/pause button while the unit is already on (can be actively paired or not) until the blue light starts rapidly flashing. At this point, search for devices on the ipad/iPhone/whatever you want to pair, and you should see it and be able to connect quickly.
Took me a bit of trial and error, but I actually figured this one out on my lonesome.
This worked for me, also. (I did both buttons...will try next with just the play). I was stumped....emailed them....nothing. SO glad it works now. Thanks.
i did what you said to do about resetting it and and my jam is trying to connect to my Iphone but my phone just says searching, any ideas what to do. it work once and now it don't
Mine works sporadically too. My daughters too. My phone always finds it but won't connect half the time. I try different combos. I turn on the jam hold down the play button then once the light flashes I turn on Bluetooth. It work 50% of the time. I really think the issue is with jam product. I wonder if other brand phones have the same issue.
Yay! It worked for me too. I've been trying all weekend :) Thanks Jehna!!!
OK, when you CALL them, they tell you:
1) delete the Jam entry from the ORIGINALLY paired bluetooth list
2) turn that device OFF
3) push the Reset on the Jam speaker
4) hold down the on/off & play/rewind button on the bottom of the Jam
5) turn On the device you NOW want to pair with
...continue on, as many have posted above.
IF you examine all the combinations of the above list, it is possible that they are not ALL necessary, as one poster above suggested - but this is "Fail-Safe" - works, every time!
When I said to the the Support Tech "That is not in the Jam Manual," she said "Oh, I guess it's not."
Go figure!
I had the same problem. My new jam box plus worked great yesterday, then when I unpaired the ipad it couldn't find the speaker again. The Bluetooth light should flash fast when searching, but it would only flash slow, showing that it thought it was already paired. I found from another forum that if your ipad (or any device - it's not an apple problem) can't find the jam box you need to press and hold the pause/start button on the speaker until the Bluetooth button starts to flash fast. Then it will connect. It doesn't say that on the jam box instructions, very poor.
Thank you Jehna!
You nailed it. I turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone and voila, my iPad paired. Thanks
