Cornelius, I am using the Jam Plus x 2...stereo. They look like a Jam Jar and there are various colors. Mine two are gold. There is a switch on the bottom center that you depress and the speaker comes on. There is a slide swithch to the side that allows you to switch from MONO (in the center) to L or R on either side. If you only have one, you may be talking about a different speaker. On the pair that I have immediately next to the slide switch is a tiny hole...just large enough for a paperclip. If you don't have this, and there should be no paper label over it, you should contact the company http://www.hmdxaudio.com/ You should be careful that NO other device in your area has blue tooth on. The way that I get my speakers to "re-pair" is to hold down the power button until BOTH of two lights flash fast. This then allows me to re-pair the speakers. I would imagine the same would be true with only one.

Hello all,

Thanks for all the replys. Guys, I bought this from Target and come back to Brasil and when I tested it doesn't work. I'm really frustrated. It's a JAM 1. Works ok, i see it in the bluetooth list, pair and the play/pause button works but it makes no sound, anyone sound. I think it's a JAM problem but go to the US to change it will be complicated

Have had someone the same issue ?

Thank you Marion555....you fixed my problem.

I should not have paired the first speaker to my iphone by itself. When I (1)deleted that bluetooth connection (on the phone), (2)paired the two speakers to each other, and then (3)bluetoothed the SET to the phone, it worked.

Now I'm not so sure the speaker quality is what I wanted.....but your solution worked!!!

My wife had a similar problem with her iPod nano and I thought the nano was the problem. I checked to see if the speaker was able to pair with my iMac computer and found it was not able to locate the speaker in order to pair on my desktop iMac. I shut off the speaker and waited a few minutes, turned back on and saw a quick flashing blue light which means it is in pairing mode and looking for devices to connect with. It popped up on my iMac, but I did not want to pair to that device. I tried the iPod nano again and could tell it was attempting to pair up and then after a few minutes it said it was connected.

I guess shut the speaker off and for a few minutes and turn it back on and see if that helps you.

Worked just like you said the first time I tried it! I guess once it's paired to a device it has be be unpaired to pair with another device. I held down the big button on the bottom and the play/pause button for 5 seconds and it erased the original pairing to my iPhone. Then I turned on the Bluetooth on my iPad and it worked! It paired. 🙂

I just bought the Jam because my friend at work let he hold his so I could watch my netflix on my Iphone 5S hands free.

The sound was awesome. Of course I couldn't pair the one I bought so I came here where I would find helpful suggestions.

I charged jam for 3 hours and turned off both the Iphone and Jam. Turned on Jam first and it made a sound (promising sound

to say the least). Then I turned on Iphone and it discovered the Jam...now I'm jamming 🙂

I too had trouble with my jam speakers. In order for it to work for me, I had to reset it. Then, after I reset it, I turned my blue tooth on my iphone 6. For some reason, it was showing up as 'jam2,' so I clicked on the little 'i' with a circle around it and clicked on 'forget this device.' After that, a device called jam plus appeared and when I clicked on it, it connected.

I ran into the same problem MB Air could not identify the Jam Party speaker) and found that the Jam Party was paired with another device (my phone) . So I disconnected that connection on the bluetooth setting of my phone device. Then the Jam Party gave the audio signal that it unpaired. Then the Macbook Air picked up the Jam Party and was able to connect. Jam Party signaled the connection. Everything has worked fine since.

BTW-- I find it is helpful to put the show "Bluetooth in menu bar." You may want to adjust the volume down as the Jam Party can come on rather loud at times.
