My IPhone 4s is not sending text messages to just one person. Help!

If you cut the iMessages service and you send a sms classic, what's happening?

We solved the same problem by deleting the message thread for that person.

1. From the home screen, tap Messages.
2. Tap Edit.
3. Tap the message thread (red delete circle)
4. Tap Delete.
5. You've now deleted the message thread.

(we had deleted the contact as well )

Thanks! This worked for me. FYI I'm in the UK and was trying to send it to a US blackberry number. This was the only number not working for me and I just deleted the entir conversation in the inbox view and Tada! I can text my friend again for the first time in 6 months!

Fire the new CEO. This is ridiculous. This actually is happening with my gf right now. Shes not getting any of my text messages. What the **** is the matter with Apple that they would be so stupid with maps and now this.

Im on ATT and she is on Verizon. We both have iphones. This does NOT appear to be happening with all of my contacts. I have another friend on Verizon and she gets my texts.

OMG. I'm having the SAME freaking problem with my boyfriend! I followed the steps you outlined earlier, but its not working for me... any other suggestions? My messages are saying "delievered," which never are actually delievered. Maybe he has to do the steps and not me?

We both have iPhones... I'm AT&T; he is verizon. This is such an inconvenience (nicely put)!!

I tried this & it worked adding a number at the end of my partners phone number. But when I try text his original number it dosnt work. Do I keep the number with a extra number on the end ? And will I ever be able to text his original number?

Im having the same prob with sending texts too my bf . All of a sudden two days ago he stopped receiving my texts .. Everyone else im texting gets them .. Tried to delete it and enter his number as a new one and hes still notbl getting anything from me ... If u or anyone knows how to fix this prob please let me know bc i have no clue how too !! I'm having the same problem of selective message blocks but not with my BF or GF - I'm amused by all the blocks among partners.... Is Apple saying something to us? :-)

So I'm not sure what the consensus is about the strategy - I've tried the hard turn off--and back on. I hope that works!

I have the same problem with iphone5 ... Except that its my wife who isn't receiving my texts. She has an old clamshell non-smart phone. I can email her from my phone and can receive texts from her. This started about a week ago.

I have deleted her contact details and re entered them, have deleted the message stream, have do e the number change thing, have reset my iPhone . No solution to the problem.

I can send and reci e both iMessages as well as ordinary texts to other phones.

What can solve this?

No - that didn't work ... the hard reset didn't facilitate me getting a text through. I tried after the iPhone was fully reset (i.e. before any restores) and then after a restore. No change.

I can't send texts from my carrier's website.

But I will look out for another iphone 5 to try with my SIM

Thanks. I had the same problem texting my daughter. tried step 1 and 2 and it worked. That was extremely frustrating though because the phone shows the message has gone through, I thought my daughter wasnt talking to me ;'( but all is well , she still love her mum!

my wife and my kids, and i are having this same issue. we are all on the same network (AT&T) and all have Iphones. all are updated to the latests update (iOS 7.1.1). we have been having this issue for about a month or so now. I have tried all of the above suggestions and nothing seems to work. my iMessage is stuck in the off possition and will not turn on. i cannot send an text to my wife now due to when selecting her name from the contacts and choosing her phone number it comes up as "no name" will not allow me to send (as in the "send" button is greyed out).

have deleted my text messages from my history 2 times not to only have them come back after restarting my phone.

this is getting really old.

will an Apple rep please respond with an acurate fix?

Hi, this worked for only 1 of the number in my contacts (my other phone) all teh other contacts that didnt work, still dont work. Tried everything. Is there a simple way out, happy to delete/reset phone or change phone numbers, anything but goingthrough each contact adn finding teh correct solution for each contact. Apple you are a disaster for this. Sort it out.

Wil getting a new sim and tel number, but keeping all contacts relove this. OR will i have to start all new contacts and type them in all over again one by one.?

someone shoudl be fired for this incompetence. Its 2015 adn the thread on thi sall over the internet dont really say theres anything easy to solve this. Happy new year apple, youve given me the first headache of eth year.

BTW with my problem, my network provide says the text are sent (they just dont land) so they have been BILLING ME.!! as it leaves the network, GETS LOST IN APPLE somewhere and NEVER turns up. Apple you owe me money.
