App updates not showing in App Store

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, the App Store has not been showing updates properly. Periodically, it will show a badge indicating that there are updates for apps available. But when I open the App Store, I see this:

If I tap on another tab, like Charts or Featured, and then come back to Updates, it still says all apps are up to date. I have to force quit the App Store app (double tap Home button, tap and hold on App Store icon then tap the minus sign, then hit the Home button again) and then open it again in order to see this:

A similar thing also happens sometimes when there is no badge, but I decide to go in to the App Store to manually check for an update. It will show no badge on the Updates tab, and the main screen says all apps are up to date. But when I force quit App Store, and open it again, it will show updates are available.

Prior to iOS 6, we could tap on the Updates button and it would force a refresh and check for updates again. That no longer seems to be the case. That in addition to it intermittently or incorrectly showing updates makes it difficult to know if app updates are actually available.

Is this just my iPhone or is anyone else experiencing something similar? Either way, does anybody have a solution?

I still can't see "download" or "downloaded" for apps that I have bought when using iTunes on a PC. If I look through the App Store on my iPad, the apps appropriately say "Open" if it is on the iPad or "Install" if it is not.

The Apple / iTunes server is aware that I have a right to the app since it looks correct when viewing through the iPad, but for some reason using iTunes on my PC still does not work. Does anybody have / still have this problem?

Yes, the exact same thing they screwed up since itunes 11 came out!😠 I have an ipod touch though...same thing...in itunes on my mac it does not say downloaded anymore even though they are download and on my device! Apple WHAT GIVES?

I stopped getting App store update notifications too. I plugged into my PC and started iTunes and it showed 9 apps pending update. Sync'ed and all seems well for now, but do I have to now connedt and go to iTunes every time I want to check for app updates?

Need this fixed...

I get this same problem. Can't download on ipod touch, ipad or direct to PC. going to app store direct from Pc says there are no apps to install, yet within itunes there are loads of them!

I am not able to update apps I have paid for or the free one.

Not a good start to the new year!

My apps have been updating the past couple weeks, though it still never says ''downloaded or installed'' on the apps I do have on my idevice and mac.....apple has failed to address this issue too.

Leaves all of us in the dark.

I ended up logging out, changing my password, and logging back in. Works now. Go figure...

IF UPDATES SHOW UP BLANK SUDDENLY-You do not have to reset your device. Just search for an app that you know needs updating. Manually update it. Once installed, you will see all your previously 'blank' updates appear in the App Store. This worked for me. :)

I have same problem with my iphone 5 with 6.0.2 software.... This is very annoying everything is fine in my App Store except the Updates....it has number 3 on the upper right corner of the App Store Icon, but when i opened the Updates just went to blank white screen i even left it for hours just to test yet still just blank white screen. :( Hope this will be fix soon!

As I mentioned in the first post of this thread, you can force quit the App Store app and then re-open it to see the udpates.

Neither force quit or individually updating each app has worked for me. App icon says 5 updates available but just get a blank screen in the update page (not even an "all apps are up to date" message). Just blankness.

Same problem here I tried resetting by erasing data also but no successes.

I was having the exact same problem with my 4s. My wife has a 4 that I gave her when I upgraded, and it was still on my account. She never uses the 4 except to make a phone call. I checked her phone and she had updates. I had not upgraded her phone to 6.0. I upgraded her phone then checked mine and was able to do updates. Go figure.

Solution here on several iPad4thGen:

- close all running apps

doubletap button; hold icon in bar below and press all the redcircles on the dancing icons until no more are there

- open App store

all updates are there

iOS 6 and 6.1
