App updates not showing in App Store

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, the App Store has not been showing updates properly. Periodically, it will show a badge indicating that there are updates for apps available. But when I open the App Store, I see this:

User uploaded file

If I tap on another tab, like Charts or Featured, and then come back to Updates, it still says all apps are up to date. I have to force quit the App Store app (double tap Home button, tap and hold on App Store icon then tap the minus sign, then hit the Home button again) and then open it again in order to see this:

User uploaded file

A similar thing also happens sometimes when there is no badge, but I decide to go in to the App Store to manually check for an update. It will show no badge on the Updates tab, and the main screen says all apps are up to date. But when I force quit App Store, and open it again, it will show updates are available.

Prior to iOS 6, we could tap on the Updates button and it would force a refresh and check for updates again. That no longer seems to be the case. That in addition to it intermittently or incorrectly showing updates makes it difficult to know if app updates are actually available.

Is this just my iPhone or is anyone else experiencing something similar? Either way, does anybody have a solution?

Same issue. I have a badge for 1 update, but nothing is listed. It wont even show the "Purchased" bar. The other tabs work: featured, top, genius, all show content. But the Update tab will not show anything at all. Very frustrating... I know the update im missing is for Angry Birds Space (just got that update on my iPad3).

Still no word from Apple on this?? I'm calling Bill Gates...

After I go though this, my problem solved (try at your own risk, as I'm not 100% sure this will working for everyone):

1. When I had the problem, I'm running iOS 6.1 tethered jailbreak. When setting up, I'm restored from iCloud.

2. I reinstalled iOS 6.1, setup as new, and seted up a new iCloud account for my iOS. Then I notice AppStore worked correct. I then switched back to my in use iCloud account, glade problem not appear. (I'm not tethered jailbreaking this time. It's looks not a jailbreaking caused problem, I just wait the untethered jailbreak.)

3. So, I guess this AppStore update problem, is because the incompatibility of the backup from older iOS, and the new iOS. You may solve this problem by prevent from restore the backup that generated from older version iOS. (This is absolutely inconveniencely, but is only solution I found. For the data, iCloud stored data will not lost, like Notes and Bookmarks if you seted up to sync. Apps like Twitter, Tumblr no need to worry, as data in their server. Only problem in my case is the game data. A few game like Infinity Blade II no need to worry, as data can retrieved from iCloud. So before restore and setup your device as new, finish the game, or find a way to backup the data maybe via Cydia tweak or iFunbox. Also ensure make a iTunes back up, so if some data not restored sccesful, can go back grab the data, go to new iOS to restore data that graben.)

Mine isn't jailbroken. Stock original 100%. And my Updates tab still hasnt shown up. Ive rebooted, powered off, hard resets... everything short of wipe and restore.

However, today it fell in the toilet. :/ Not kidding. So... for now its in a bowl of rice. We'll see what happens in a few days. Hopefully my aging Otter Box kept it from getting too messed up... 😐
