Q: Slow Wi-Fi connection on Mac Mini - Solved!
Hello
This is my first post here @ Apple Support. I may be considered a newb to some Apple veterans as I am relatively new to the Apple World of things but I come heavily backed with tech-savviness
I made a discovery whilst troubleshooting the slow Internet connection I have over my Wi-Fi. This simple configuration will help Mac users with the problem I have been facing for a few months now.
Please note - This will only work if you for some reason have the Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no keyboard is detected box ticked and/or Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no mouse or trackpad is detected box ticked whilst not having the device connected to your Mac.
For example if you connect your iPhone to your Mac in order to enable it to be used as a mouse and/or keyboard like I sometimes do the Bluetooth Setup Assistant will remain enabled which will result in very slow Internet over Wi-Fi speeds which is due to conflict between your onboard Bluetooth device and your onboard Wi-Fi device.
Just untick the Bluetooth Setup Assistant for the device that is not in use then restart your Mac.
I have not yet tried this fix on other Mac's however it is highly probable that this fix is not limited to a Mac Mini.
Mac mini (Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Ok,
Firstly can you tell me how you are connecting your keyboard and mouse to your Mac? Bluetooth or USB?
Next, on your menu bar right click the Bluetooth Icon and left click Open Bluetooth Preferences.
You should now see a window showing your peripherals i.e. Keyboard and Mouse.
Left click to highlight your keyboard then left click the Advanced button at the bottom right of the window.
You should now be seeing a window with 4 boxes that can be ticked to activate variouse advanced Bluetooth options.
Tell me which boxes are ticked Identifying each box by a number allocation i.e. first box being 1 and the second box being 2 and so forth.
Now do the same for your Mouse and give me the results.
This info will help me determine whether this fix will work for you.
Thanks in advance.
