BRING BACK COVER FLOW! What were you thinking?
Still trying to reserve judgement but seeming a disaster for anyone but someone that buys 2-3 items on itunes. Get artwork is a dismal failure and I am certainly not replacing 15-1600 CDs by purchasing again.
Even when get album art works - I cannot copy it to place on tracks it has somehow separated as it nabs artwork prior to being able to group back all tracks. Example: ok no proud but Titanic soundtrack ripped has to be told that Celine track is part of same disc as all other tracks are James Horner. Have stuck her back in with my own fix - call album artist Movie SOundtrack and it will rejoin CD's without lumping them as Compilations - but now I have to go find the cover somewhere as the ability to copy and paste is gone. It does look like you can in several spots but although the ability to copy is there it does nothing.
Anyone know if there is a way to locate the cover art file directly and copy and paste to a track?
The programming is also seriously -wonked as in Album view it shows the cover it grabbed from itunes but now that I have added a track back to the CD the genre view has no cover - I assme because all are not the same.
Also an issue is that - who ever is adding the titling of CD's to itunes is creating all sorts of brackets and their own punctuation so it cannopt identify a ripped CD it seems ludicris that a CD ripped from original source is not identifyable by iTunes as something they sell and they are loosing cash as the - in store function is completely unusuable then as iTunes thinks I spelt something wrong. I am not a programmer - but, it seems i could not be that hard to create a work around that a user could "identify" a CD as something in the store. You would be foolish to misidentify and screw up track listings etc but would get artwork etc instead of me having to individually search for it.
Lastly - 600x600 covers look just fine on anything
I have a dedicated music server being displayed on a 42" hdtv in my listening room. In the evenings, often the only light in the room was provided by the subdued, relaxing coverflow display. Now I get the glaring white background...thanks Apple. 😟

You can try just repeating the Artist in Album Artist, or since I collect singles by Labels, I put my label info in this field and for albums with different artist it will group the covers together.

Its quite fast to do it from Google Images, but if you want to automate entire collection you will need an app or script but somehow its never too accurate.

Try to select all tracks from album and edit each part to see if it can finally group together. Worse case is to select it as compilation. Another way is to click on each of the tick boxes without info to tell iTunes that you are changing that part, it sometimes can refresh and group tracks together.
I was a huge fan of Cover Flow! Please return the option as another view option... The magic mouse worked so well with swiping to go to a new album if you chose that route. The album view is ok, only thing I don't like is it won't let you shuffle your whole library. I like having the images up and not having that feature in song mode stinks, it shuffles to next song but stays on that previous album.
I agree with several comment that this new iTunes is Like MS.... it is horrible!! Bring back Cover Flow... Please!
What the heck, Apple!! Did you even talk to long-time users about removing cover flow? Changing just for the sake of change is usually not a good idea. I loved cover flow!! Bring it back!!
Doh! Why did you remove coverflow - what duffus in a committee got that 'upgrade' approved - Sort it Apple, I've been a user since 1995, loyal to your products - NEVER owned a windows device - And stupid descisions like this have me questioning my sanity - your's is seemingly long gone.
OH, Steve Jobs why to the geniuses go early!
Downgraded to 10.7 as quickly as possible. Cover Flow was the only view I used...
I have imported 758 CDs in iTunes, each one with its cover on high resolution.
This process took literally years, and I just did it because iTunes provided a way to visualize the covers in a beautiful way -- keeping the album "concept" since its initial versions.
Now, at version 11, Apple simply kills the cover flow.
This is not only an inconsistent interface decision, it is also a disrespect with loyal users that have been trusting Apple digital music formats since its early days.
Profoundly dissapointing.
I too downgraded to 10.7 as 11 is just a hideous and appalling app. Once they get their heads out of the butts and fix everything they blundered with 11 maybe I'll switch back.
Me too. Really don't like the new interface and definitely want coverflow back.
Cover flow was originally the reason why I started to buy apple products and music. It was the heart of iTunes! Please bring it back asap!!!!!!!!
I also miss iTunes DJ!!!!!!
And: Why all menues/button are on the top ---> hey guys everybody is using widescreens so we have a lot of space left/right but not on top and buttom!!! are you doing the same mistakes as microsoft?
And more: iTunes still makes a lot of trouble with sync more then 2 devices at same time! that you really should improve!
And none stop: I'm still missing a good way to manage Apps and Files of Apps in iTunes under "devices" please do something on your interface design!!!!!
Thank you so much for your helpful and encouraging reply re. my Facebook links to help us all achieve a common goal of re-instating Cover Flow.
You're clearly a well informed and intelligent individual. Well done.
