Just what the topic asks, Thanks!

From all the previews of the iTunes 12 beta testers/previewers, not one of them goes into the subject of the album covers or cover art. Its as if the the idea of cover art is fast becoming taboo. All the time and effort to make memorable covers is totally overlooked, they might as well just have a white background with the title of the album and the name of the band. So sad.

Someone should point out the rise in vinyl sales and the reason for this is many. One of them is, the owner now has a substantial item to hold and some cover art to behold. Vinyl technology has become so advanced that the LP album is making a bit of a comeback. Many of the buyers, when questioned as to why they bought the vinyl version say its the artwork and legible sleeve notes.

I’d like to see iTunes 12s new ‘get info’ window. I’d bet that it has been simplified and the information that can be added is limited. I hope I’m wrong!

I understand that COVERFLOW isn't suitable for smaller devices, but for us dinosaurs who have large screen Macs and have spent many years painstakingly filling in the info panel and making sure we have the best cover art to be displayed this is a little disheartening. I know in the place of COVERFLOW, the user can Command (⌘) CLICK the album icon in the the viewer window or mini player, and you can resize the artwork to fit the screen. Its okay I guess, but still not COVERFLOW.

Surely this can be made as an option for the Mac Pros, iMacs and MacBooks?

I still miss COVERFLOW.

P.S.: Isn't amazing, and doesn't this send a message to Apple that this discussion subject is still going on after all this time!

After holding out for as long as possible I finally updated to iTunes 11.4. I have an iPhone 6 Plus on order I know the writing is on the wall...it won't sync in iTunes 10.7. 😟

I've lost my beloved Coverflow, and as much as it pains me to say it I think it's gone for good (I hope to be proven wrong). From the looks of the upcoming iTunes 12 they've gone even more flat. There doesn't appear to be any room for a 3D-like effect that was Coverflow.

I don't despise iTunes 11. And although many here have trouble navigating it I find that it's actually quite similar to iTunes 10. My main complaint, obviously, is the lack of proper cover art display. I can't STAND "albums" view. What a jumbled, useless mess that is! The only view that works for me is "songs."

And the best thing that I came up with for a Coverflow replacement is the mini player. Once activated I checked the box under advanced preferences to "Keep Mini Player on top of all other windows." I resized it and placed it on the right of my screen, so whenever I play a song it'll show the cover. I quite like this actually. It's NOT as good as the jukebox effect of Coverflow, but if it's a forced march into the future of iTunes I can live with this. Here's a screenshot of what I've done. The album art stays in that spot, and also above the main window (even when I click on a new song).

We'll see what comes in iTunes 12. You never know with Apple!

Your screenshot hasn't loaded, unfortunately, (maybe it's a regional error). But I think I get the idea.

Still, its a compromise, and we know that compromises aren't necessary the best solutions.

Coverflow is still sourly missed and I hope that it will come back in some form.

I've reluctantly got used to iTunes 11, but it always feels like there is something missing.

Coverflow was a such a brilliant, massive feature to iTunes, I hope Apple bring it back.

This morning on the BBC radio, the Today Programme, (27/11/2014) I heard an article on the rise in the sale of Vinyl LPs. One of the reported results of this happening is that they are now bought as a keepsake, mainly for the cover to be admired. Most LPs sold today also come with a code to allow for the digital download of for the musical content. Also, that music lovers can no longer visually or admire their full physical album collection.

Just another reason why iTunes should reintroduce CoverFlow to the iTunes application.

At the top of this thread it says "Branched to a new discussion" but when I click on that link it goes nowhere. Is this continued somewhere? URL? I am still using iTunes 10.7 and greatly enjoying Cover Flow, been adding to mega playlist with great joy.

Terrified of upgrading but will have to eventually. Entire computer stuck way far behind because I don't want to give up Cover Flow and this wonderful version of iTunes.

Has anybody found a comparable fix yet?

Can somebody please email me where this discussion is being continued? URL?

It was deleted by the forum moderators for violation of the ToS.

However, they don't actually delete them, they move them to a different forum only they have access to.

I really can't believe apple hasn't gotten the hint yet.

Maybe they need it spelled out for them ? 😝

Dear apple,

Many of your users like coverflow.

Please bring back the coverflow feature in your next version of iTunes.

Thank you,

Undersigned.

But in all seriousness. I can't help but feel they are just either hogging the feature to themselves or there is some conspiracy at the highest levels of corporate or gov. stopping coverflow from coming back.
I wouldn't even call that tin foil hat "esk" at this point. What ever became of the hole mirror worlds saga ? Did apple lose coverflow to them ?
