USB Mouse, Keyboard not recognized in Windows

Hello,

I have just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my late 2012 iMac, the installation seems to have gone well except that after running the Bootcamp setup program Windows restarted and now does not recognize any mouse/keyboard - USB mouse and keyboeard as well as Magic Trackpad/Bluetooth keyboard are unresponsive. They worked before the restart, and also work in Safe mode.

Has anyone had/fixed this issue, or can direct me to instructions to help? I've looked over the forum and not found same issue. I'm assuming any fix would have to work in Safe mode as I can't do anything in Normal mode!

USB port issue?

I'm also assuming I will have to separately fix the Trackpad/Apple Keyboard issue, but first just want to get basic USB devices working.

Thanks!

Same issue for me. iMac 2014 21".

Using bootcamp, downloading newest assistant and installling Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit results "applessd.sys not digitally signed" issue.

Using older drivers from older bootcamp results keyboard and mouse not working at all.

I'm using an USB 2.0 USB stick, and tried installing from all 3 USB ports. Neither worked.

I'm lost.

Any idea guys ?

Do not use older drivers. If you want details of AppleSSD.sys, please see [urgent]get "appleSSD.sys" error when installing windows 7 through bootcamp .

If you are installing Windows, your USB structure should look like the following (Notice that AppleSSD.sys has been moved out of the $WinPEDriver$ folder). Ignore the 5.1.5621 directory, because I needed it for W7 installation on a MBP after the installation.

Okay. applessd.sys problem solved by deleting applessd.* files from the bootcam assistant created USB stick. However i still cannot finish the installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit because of the unusable keyboard and mouse. I cannot enter the username so the installation cannot be done. Safe mode results also unresponsive keyboard and mouse as well. I use latest bootcamp that creates the usb stick. What now ?
