Whilst my two year old was using our ipad the plug exploded, I have the photos if it helps with anything. Why would this happen? I had my home electrics checked they are fine, its 100% genuine factory supplied charger and my ipad and the charger before this were in great shape.

Take ipad & charger to Apple Store to be checked and they will replace charger.
