Yup...i hope too...
The error on my iphone5 is persistent whilst trying all that was suggested (except reformatting the phone as new)
Same here, nothing of these solutions worked for me :(
I know you like many users don't like to restore, but restoring reinstalls the OS into your iPhone. At least through iTunes it can be done, I don't know about just a phone. It would be preferable that you don't recover from a backup, but if you really need that backup, just go to settings/iCloud/storage & backup/backup now. Once it's finished, restore using iTunes and if you don't have iTunes then try settings/general/reset/erase all content & reset all settings. You might even consider trying reset all settings or reset network settings. See if that helps.
Don't want to undermine your frustration. This type of problems are always frustrating. There are three forums I know that have people screaming for help. I heard though that the beta iOS 6.1.1 is out already meaning it might come out soon.
Here is a Cnet article for iOS 6.1.1:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57567978-37/apple-gives-developers-ios-6.1.1-t o-test-out/
Looks like iOS 6.1.1 has been released only for iphone 4S
Mine stays stuck on an endless loop saying, "checking for updates".
I had the same problem, and none of the fixes recommended here worked.
What finally DID work was disabling the automatic time setting.
Navigate to Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > Off.
Reboot after holding power & home buttons worked for me. iPhone 5, iOS 6.1, Australian App Store
Im in Australia, iPhone 4S, 6.1.1. updated yesterday.
I was on my school's wifi, as soon as i downloaded "Mailbox" I got the "Too many HTTP redirects".
Reading through this forum, the going into Settings > iTunes and App Store > Tapped my Apple ID > Sign Out > signed back in (app store was closed at the time) and then reopened and it seemed to work 🙂
Dear Markc:
I've succeeded solving the problem by rebooting the device.
Connect and sync directly to Itunes in your Mac or Laptop. Make sure is fully sync. 🙂
I, too, am getting the "too many HTTP redirects" error on my iPhone 5. It just started yesterday (Feb 12). The odd thing is that I am perfectly able to get to every part of the app store BUT the home screen. I've tried all the solutions that I have found in these fora but nothing has worked.
Finally, a workaround that actually works!
I logged out from itunes settings>general>itunes
Then access app store and i noticed that the "too many redirects" prompt disappeared
I logged back in to itunes at the bottom part of the app store "sign in / redeem"
Finally! I had this issue for 6 days
❤❤ Happy Hearts Day y'all ❤❤
Actually works for you. Unfortunately not for me. 😟
yeah! that worked for me! thanks
