iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

What you describe is the calibration needs performing. That should get it closer to being correct. The software and actual battery capacity are not in sync so to speak so the calibration should help. Keep in mind that is just an estimate.

I not entirely sure if I am allowed to advise you of the process or post links to and websites containing tutorials, but I can say that since you asked me how to do it there's a big chance you cannot perform the downgrade. Google it and go to a link from redmondpie dated in April 2013 it explains why it cannot be done, even for A4 devices unless certain things (not sure if I can say them to I'm playing it safe) are done when 6.1.2 was still available.

I got my iPhone 4 replaced 3 months ago by a new one, also 4. l updated the software to 6.1.3 2 days ago and since then it's been eating my battery like crazy. Last night l had 64% battery when l went to sleep and 8 hours later l woke up and the phone was dead!!! Good thing l wasn't catching a flight early this morning!!!

This is clearly a bug from the software update. l spoke to some colleagues at work and they also have this problem since 2-3 days ago.

l expect an improvemen ASAP or l switch to Samsung. As easy as this.

this is ridiculous... The "Fixes" that people are saying to make the battery work like it used to. Turn off this, that, these, etc etc. Why on earth should you have to turn off anything? it worked FINE before this update. I just updated Wednesday (didnt read anything about it... It asked when i plugged into iTunes 11... speaking of disasters!)

and didnt notice anything till the next morning. Unplugged the phone from a full charge at 7:00 am and by 11:30 with ZERO usage. i was at 8%! i had just installed a few apps, so i deleted them and charged it up some. Still saw a rapid discharge. Thought my phone was broken. I restored as new and it sat at 100% for almost an hour before dropping to 99%. Im going to say that it has to be e-mail since i did not set that up. SO, the problem is email.... Apple needs to fix this ASAP!! we should not have to mess around turning things off and jump through hoops just to make our battery last till the end of the work day! Didnt this update come ouot like a month ago? why no fix yet!?

If this is confirmed, it would explain why (some) people observe a return to battery drainage even after restoring as a new phone. However (and I haven't checked this), one would kind of expect to see remarks about drainage in the app comments on the store.

For those who'd like to see whether getting rid of the FB app improves battery life: myself I've deleted the app a long time ago because it's just too frustrating to use, even for an "acceptable waste of time" the whole FB thing is (and it shows ads in the middle of my feeds). For simple glances at my feeds I use Flipboard, sometimes I use Facely HD (which is an almost perfect replacement for the "official" app), but often I simply open the desktop version in Chrome.

see if your phone is not backing up your stuff on icloud its the main reason for drainging of batt!!

Just a thought. I use Chrome as my main browser. Which has a sync feature. I've turned it off and disconnected my account, just incase.

download battery doctor & watch your memory use its gets up to 95% use with everything turned off

1) Delete icloud account on phone and set up new (not the whole account, just the data on your phone)

2) Delete exchange account, set up new.

I've had the same problem on my 4s since updating to 6.1.2. Now have 6.1.3, and it's no better.

First iPhone I had was a 3GS which lasted me 2 years before being stolen.

I've been riding the iOS train since iOS 3. I have never had a single battery problem with my iPhone 3GS OR 4s until updating to 6.1.2. It seemed the majority of users complained when 6.1 was released, now I'm having problems.

I'm not sure if the software varies at all between carriers but I'm on AT&T, not Verizon.

My phone would hold 100% charge for over 5 hours on standby. Now within an hour it drains to 85%.

I have hard reset, cycled charges between 20% and full drain, removed apps in quick-switch, and there is zero improvment.

ditto. iphone5 + corporate exchange + AT&T. prior to 6.1.3 i could go 16-24 hours easily on a charge. Now I can only go about 8-10 hours. This is aweful. Down 40% in 4 hours and it has been in my pocket all morning without use.

I have cycled my phone several times hoping an app was causing it and verified all apps/tasks were closed. Going on my thrid day of drain....

You can enable everything back once you're done downloading the apps.

The key is only download apps with wi fi AND make sure data And 3G are off while you're doing it.

Your correct, closing apps does help, keeping location off helps, iCloud, mail, notifications...ect also helps if you keep those off. But why put them on a device that can't utilize them? Apple tells me to turn those off...lol maybe I want to use iCloud, or mail, but it drains my battery on my wifi only ipad mini. It's crazy! You understand what I'm saying here? Right? Add more stuff to ios, get a better battery! But I won't purchase any Apple products until things are back in order, like the old days with ios 3.0
