iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

I'm sorry...your correct. I'm wrong. I apologize for making people think that battery apps work. I really thought battery apps helped? I'm so stupid! You have open my eyes...thank you! Wasted money on battery apps in the App Store! Do you know how to go about getting a refund? If it doesn't work, I would like my money back! I'm a little mad about this! Why would Apple allow apps like this on the App Store? Maybe because Apple can say" we have millions of apps in the App Store" but only have of them are fun and usefull.

Anyways...thank you! I deleted that fake battery helper. Now I want a refund! Also I think when 6.1.4 comes out, why bother coming here? We all know its 6.1.3 that's the culprit for battery issues. So just wait for 6.1.4. Battery apps help with good tips on saving battery %

Just found this thread and thought I'd add my two penn'th. Upgraded my iPhone 4 yesterday to latest IOS. Phone charged overnight and was 100% this morning. Did not use it until 12:30 when charge was down to 62%. While using a car park app to pay for a parking space I watched as the charge went down point by point to 56%. Did not check again until a few minutes ago and it was at 32%. Arrgghhh. Have checked the above suggestions but my 'Push' notifications were all off and fetch data was already manual. So something else is happening here. Phone now at 29% and ticking down. I quess I'm a light user and only need to charge my phone once every 5 days if that, nut when I need it, i need it to work. Are Apple doing something? Now at 28% What is happening Apple?

this is beyond a joke now its been weeks & no fix or even any news of a fix from apple not a word just get filled with the same old bull restore/set up as new disable push disable mail disable wifi 3g data ect ect its all bull nothing works ive tried everything how can it be fetch when 1 i dont have a email acc on my phone or use i cloud never have hmmmm so people give up your pointless waste of time fixes THAY DONT WORK THIS IS IOS 6.1.3 THATS THE PROBLEM NOT ANYTHING ELSE oh & i have iphone 4s witch is brand new only 1 month old & worked perfectly on 6.1.1 as it came then 6.1.3 killed it gr8 nice one apple thanks for my 2 year 32 pound a month o2 contract with a broken phone never again will i buy anything from apple

Your service provider controls what connection type is used on their network. Apple makes the phones compatible with a majority of connection types but when you connect to a cell signal it is controlled by your service provider, not Apple. Most often their is a hierarchy of auto connection signal types but each carrier controls how the system works via the SIM card data they program. You can turn off the phones 3G, 4G, LTE and cellular data (varies by device and service provider) but you can't 'force' it to choose one available signal type over another. For example; with AT&T I can turn off 'enable LTE' (4G) but in areas with only an LTE signal available it will connect to LTE regardless of the settings.

Seriously I think it's Apple's problem.I got an iPad3 and an iPhone5,both of them have been upgraded to 6.1.3,

and whatever i do with the iPad,it drains battery very very slow, the iPhone is opposite.So what we can do is waiting Apple release a firmware or something to fix this problem.

I just realized from my post above that none of the iPhone setttings for cellular connections can be the cause of the battery drainage after 6.1.3. None of the iPhone settings to do with Cellular connections should have any affect / change on battery life after the 6.1.3 IOS update. To the best of my knowledge the cellular connections are controlled by the individual service provider that you have a contract with via the SIM card programming. The SIM card programming is not changed by an IOS update. Only the service provider can change the programming or update their own SIM cards. Since there are people from all over the world with different carriers reporting similar battery drainage issues here, it follows that the actual celluar connection settings cannot not be the problem. That would mean that all the different carriers made changes to their SIM card programming which now causes some sort of new battery drainage problem, extemely unlikely.... It is possible that 6.1.3 has changed how IOS interacts with the connected cellular signal from your carrier but the phones actual celluar connection settings should be identical to how they were before the update....

Not disagreeing with you, but a majority of those posting here had the battery issue develop imediately after the 6.1.3. update. I have an ipad 3, ipod 4, iPhone 4 and a iPhone 5 and the only one with issue is my iPhone 5. Several friends with a mix of 4, 4S and 5's all have had varying results after the 6.1.3 update but none that I know of have had battery issues without the new update.

just got off the phone with apple same old bull try setting your phone as new & we will call you back in 24hours if the pronblem still there we will look at replceing your 1month old iphone 4s for a refurbished pice a s***t hmmmm im very greatfull.....no way am i walking out the apple store with a 2nd hand phone after 1 month just to have the same problem or worse because apple refuse to admit its IOS 6.1.3 thats the problem

God some people are just blind to the facts how can it be a network issue when 6.1.3 is causeing the same issues whith battery drian on ipod touch as well witch dont have a network how do you explain that if ist not the ios like your saying

Just posting my last 2 posts drained 10% via wifi witch uses less power than 3g lol its insane how people dont believe theres a issuse with 6.1.3 that fact is since 6.1.3 people iphones ipods ipads all getting battery drain some ipods getting under 2 hours use on a full charge some ipads that lasted 3 days on full charge now lasting 4 hours apple really need to fix this and fast

@JohannBelet... I don't know much about connection either, but it makes no difference it is just in 6.1.3!

I know my new 4S will not ALLOW any closure of 4G that I can find. I can turn WiFi off but not 4G..

AS to above suggestion of restoring blank phone. and adding each APP and waiting an hour to see if batt drains

I awoke this AM to a 20% drain during the night when 3 tweets were favorited! GAH!!!

I just keep turning off all recently used apps (because Apple is too stupid to do so when you close and go to home screen... and clearing free memory with SYS ACTIVITY Manager. I noted last nigh when Battery report came on when I plugged in that MAX phone usage for 'internet' activity is something like 4 hours...

Unacceptable!

ANYWAY I just keep sending out TWEETS telling people to NOT NOT NOT Buy a MOBILE APPLE PRODUCT till this is solved. That got a lot of action last week! Apple doesn't like that!

really you think it's a network or hardware problem? you do realize iPhone's, iPad's and iPod's are having this problem and since most of them are brand new devices I highly doubt its a hareware problem. As I stated before and you obviously didn't read my post I had recently got an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and the battery life was hrrobile, 6.1 came out and the battery life improved. iOS 6.1.3 came out and my issues returned so yea it's highly doubtful it's a network or hardware problem it's obviously an iOS problem

Hey guys...I have posted few weeks ago already. Now its a bit different.

One month ago I had my 2year old black iPhone 4 and it lasted me a day,no huge battery drainage on iOS 6.1.3. even with icloud,3G on and so on.

Then I bough iPhone 4S and battery died in 6 hours with no usage in standby!I was so mad. I sell the iPhone again because I bought iPhone 5. Also iPhone 4S wouldnt back up the last days at all. Tried everything too.

It was brand new one,already on 6.1.3. from my operator - Vodafone czech republic.

I was curious about the battery here, and I restored from back up since of course I want to have all my contacts,photos,messages on my iPhone. I charged to 100% - and was worried that the battery would die overnight just like on my iPhone 4S. But its a bit different. In standby I can go for two days,but when using quite a lot - surfing 3g or even just edge,icloud on,wifi on, it drains quickly as well..I can do like 7-8 hours with hard usage maybe less.But on the battery usage it shows the time - and the time of standby is actually good, i drains overnight just about 4% for like 9 hours. So at least that.. But still, I have now 3g off, icloud partly too, gps too, brightness is on really low and it doesnt last a day with normal usage at all :/

I really love my iPhone but i want to actually use it!Now just have everything important of smart phone off. Hope there really will be a fix soon.

But yea. As you experienced; really the Push thing is irrelevant. Location services are off by default and I have no need for it so I keep it off.

The reason you saw a difference, IMO, as I said its because you did a Reset. A Reset will always make the software behave. Problem is, after a few days of recharges, it starts again.

Last thing that worked for me was doing "Reset All Settings". Now issue is back. 8:30Am and I'm already charging the phone. It's at 58%. It got to 50% after 2:20min usage about there.

Location off. Push is on because it just doesn't make any difference. I've already turned all that off and it doesn't matter.

I've restored as new.

I've done it all.

It's iOS. Period. The end.

I've gotten 8-18 hours and was on LTE with all settings on prior to 6.1.3 so not ALL iPhone 5s have terrible battery life. On 6.1.3 that is more the case but 6.0 - 6.0.2 were fine for me. However on 6.1.3 I am averaging 4-5 hours with many settings off and restored from new.
